Discussed Here and this seems to be the owners car here

I hope they throw the book at him. I do get fed up with people treating Wales as one big off-road course. Is it really that difficult to get a map and stick to the Byways? No wonder off-roaders have such a bad rep.

Blimey, its not like he was looting TVs or something.

I fully expect him to be charged for abandoning the shite but its not exactly crime of the century is it?!

He should have the book thrown at him and be fined a fair sum of money...

...but also be given some book vouchers and bought a drink for choosing to do it in a Frontera.

Overall, I probably agree with this.

I just get sick of people not respecting the countryside. You say it isn't crime of the century, but this represents the tip of the iceberg when it comes it idiots in off-roaders/on off-road pics just razzing about wherever they like. It kind of sums up the way things are going, with no-one respecting anything that belongs to someone else - whether it's a National Park or Farmer Llewellyn's land.

He can't be a very good off roadist- everyone knows that if your vehicle breaks down in the wilderness, you should hide it from the Daily Mail.

Well, he might not have been on THAT particular evening but I given he drives a FRONTEZZA looting Tellys is no doubt a career option for him, along with dealing scag, beating up grannies, hooliganism, DSS fraud etc etc....

"Police are working out how to get it off the Mountain" Well for one, go round to the owner's house and tell him to remove it, or he will get a huge fuck off bill. Then, let the handbrake off, and push it off. Or, get the RAF in with a Chinook, and send him the bill. Why is it left there anyway? Surely downhill isn't that hard to do if it's broken down?

Well, I've got a Fronty and the nearest I've got to looting tellies is watching Peppa Pig with the infant.

I think the whole thing is quite amusing - I know he broke the law but there's no real harm done. He says if he gets his keys back he'll drive it back. The only surprising thing is it got as far as it did before breaking down ...

Posted
...it doesn't look stuck to me. It looks broken down.

Above all, it's a Fronterror...

Pah, it was only Wales anyway, who cares about them?

I'm calling woos on all of them though. I've taken a Kia Soul over a 10,000ft mountain pass in the Atacama desert.

I'll see your admittedly impressive Chilean escapade and raise you Mont Blanc, Col du Petit-St. Bernard, Col de l'Iseran, Col du Mont Cenis, Col de Montgenevre, Col de Var and Col de la Bonette - in the same day, in a terminally crusty Citroen GSA

We had to give the Col de Turini a miss because we ran out of daylight after la Bonette - at 2860m...

Reading the reactions it's - OMG WON'T SOMEBODY THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!!!

I think they'll probably be happy if the driver is killed as punishment...or something.

Quality - the report seems to suggest its a different car, when its plainly the same one.

I wonder if its the same bloke driving it? I hope so :D

I'm sure it was still on Ebay this afternoon. Not that I was searching for Fronteras... ahem....

/\ /\ sounds about right to me. I don't feel he has done much wrong really, your average mini cab driver breaks more laws in a few minutes or miles driving. Never mind the real criminals. The environment? It's 29 degrees today in most of the midlands the environment is fooked anyway and it's nothing to do with the internal combustion engine afaik.

I know it's not right but he hasn't got very drunk and driven into a bus shelter full of people has he?

Posted

No, he hasn't. Problem is, there are too many people who think they're Clarkson and just drive their 4x4s where the hell they like. This does nothing to prevent that sort of behaviour. Laws exist to limit which bits of the countryside you can destroy - and believe me, idiots in 4x4s really do make a hell of a mess (and, for reasons of fairness, twats on motorbikes/quad bikes).

What really annoys me is that this will just make everyone who dislikes off-roaders dislike them even more. Honestly, sometimes I think I'd get friendlier looks from people if I went around kicking puppies in the face.
