Nice, looks very clean. Is it a 2600? Whats wrong with it?

Posted

I have only managed to see it for about 5 minutes, no idea what's wrong! Nice looking though!

Sleek! Amazing how this design still manages to look good 35 years after it was launched. That's quite an achievement really. Good colour for it too. May it serve you well.

The points closed up on it last time I saw it. The autochoke thing is a bit wank as well.

Did you send him back round for the Princess?

By heck that looks nice. Torsten you're something of a legend sir, can't wait to read more about it.

It is nice, very nice. I drove it from Billericay to Berkhamsted for the Classics on the Common show a couple of years back and it was a lovely drive, even if it did want to idle at about 2500rpm the whole time. Still, even then it didn't boil on the M25 in the traffic jam we hit. It's very much all together.

Didn't I do well!

Yes. Yes you did.

Thats lovely.

How do you manage to find all these wonderful cars?!!

Posted

this looks bloody marvellous, and what an interesting car it is, too!

What a piece of shite :lol::lol:

Mrs E likes the empty space on the driveway Torst! I did a 7 hour Essex-Tunbridge Wells-shagged M25-lets try Ascot-Bugger-Wales run in it without boiling, it's got that nice Kenlowe variable stat worth more than the car...

That may help! Not sure when I'll get a good look at it, Glastonbury sort of takes my life over, that and I'm off on my travels again next week.

Princess wise I'm hoping the legend that is Andrew353w can fetch it next week but it's touch and go!

Thanks for all the compliments though and Rod/b and Andrew353w for all the help!

Well there are a spare set of points in the glovebox, but I have had it running perfectly one moment, the next week NOWT. God knows really, my next point of call was to be the ignition switch, but I kinda fell out of love with it

I will be somehing silly... allways is. Is still remember the thumbs up from a neckless man stood next to a mark2 Granada on Southend seafront, that was the last time the Mrs went out in it

Great job apart from the LOLSPEAK. The Rover looks very honest, will you keep it more than a month?

Posted

What on Earth is LOLSPEAK?

Have you actually got any shite at the moment Len?

Posted

Welcome to the family torsten. That looks a nice one

It was a pleasure to assist, Mr. Torsten! Only sorry it took longer to arrange than normal. I reckon that non-starting is a wiring problem, as there's no "clicking" that you usually get with a dodgey starter. I also noticed that the dashboard lights didn't dim when the starter was connected. Whatever it is it'll be something simple. Otherwise the car's almost perfect-another star addition to the Torsten stable!

We'll talk about the Princess soon!

The thread title.

No. :( Unless a 15 year old Golf Diesel counts(no).

I do like a nice SD1. In fact I've got a bit of a hankering for one at the moment. That or a P6.

Posted

They look so good-dont they.

Just shit to maintain, and (mine anyway) rubbish to drive.

Nice one tosh -look forward to seeing it for real sometime

ooh, that's lovely. How's it for rust as mine's is a disaster area. I dunno what the previous owner of mine did to it other than tick every box in the rimmersbros catalog but mines drive really well if not a little hard..
