How many left?

Recommended Posts

Sorry if someone has posted this already but if not this is a very interesting website to find out how many of a certain marque are left on the road or sorn:

http://howmanyleft.co.uk/

If you click on the model name, this is where it gives you the figures for the Road worthy examples and the cars that are SORN. It also tells you the "death rate" so to speak from 1994 to present.

For example there were 645 Renault 18 Turbo's still alive in 1994, there are now just 7 :cry:

Have a look how many of your favourite car is left on the road, it's going to be depressing reading.....

According to HML, there are TWO taxed and tested 305 S5s left on the road. And that was last year.

I could conceivably have the only road legal S 5 left in the UK.

There are 97 licensed 480 S\Rs and 62 SORN'd this year. Mine is part of the 62 currently. It looks like the S I'm breaking is rarer than it.

142 Amazon 121s licensed, 40 on a SORN. Mine is one of the 40.

Tried to work out how many E30 318i beemers were left , just got confused

Thanks for sharing that website....you're right , it is a depressing read. Only two Chrysler 2 Litres currently roadworthy...one is mine, so only one other?!

That is a bloody nice website. I already had the Excel file, and it's a messy document. Very good job whoever did that.

Only one Fiat Argenta and one Croma i.e. Auto!!!

Theres gotta be more than one Argenta on the road surely.

Posted

The spreadsheet says 37 Fiat Argenta, but it also says:

1136 Argenta SR

1261 Argenta SR Auto

50 Croma Prestigo Mjet 150

693 Croma SX IE

71 Croma CHT

516 Croma Dynamic 150

1127 Croma P-Gio MJET JTD200 A

I was trying to get my head around this site earlier, The trouble is they don't list the cars in the year so if i type Opel Kadett I get about a dozen options not knowing if they are a A, B, C or D shape which is a shame as I'd love to know officially how many Kadett B saloons are left on the road, None i think apart from mine.

Another one is my BMW 1602, Mine was a L (Lux) but according to the site none were on the road in 2010 and only one in 2009 which can't be right unless it's listed as the 1602 where there's 33 left in 2010 which seems very low.

the Peugeot 604 was the first turbo diesel sold in Europe.

Now there is one left.

A good idea, but needs some more work, I think.

Extremely interesting site, thanks for posting the link.

If I am reading it correctly and I sincerely hope I am there are 31 Renault 14's!!!If so I can only think of six including the one I imported, 4 at Regie Ritmo's and the 1 at Nigel Bickle. I would love to know where the rest are hiding :? .

This includes 14 licenced Renault 14L's a trim level which as far as I can tell was never sold here.

If this site is correct I have been telling people incorrectly that mine was the only one "on the road" in the UK. So maybe not so depressing as I was expecting a lot less survivors!

No 604 SL autosplatics either...

3 604 STi Autos, but looking back, there were only 13 in '94 so they've only dropped off slowly...

Now this has surprised me, Escort 1300 Sport. I'd have thought there'd be loads. 15 taxed, 37 SORN'd.

Range Rover Classic Vogue. 2. That's weird, but they only named 'em the Classic in '94-95, so maybe most of 'em aren't Classic on the V5C.

FSO, Moskvich, and Yugo make for interesting reading...

Also, look at Citroen BX. Some models dropped at around 3000 a year!

I'm not sure you can rely on the data - there is not a single Mitsubishi Celeste on the roads now...according to the search results :?

Edit:

But there are a small contingent of Colt Celestes....

Q3 282 164

Q2 282 173

Q1 222 214

2005 Q4 235

2000 Q4 224

1995 Q4 169

Escort Mexico's... interesting that more exist now that in 95???

Posted

Fiat 131 were entered as just 131 or just Mirafiori. 22 in total running about

TWO trevi. 3 on SORN

37 Austin Ambassador with tax discs. Not one Hindustan.

The figures won't be bang-on as they seem to be based off DVLA records and they can be in a right muddle - odd cars can be registered under all sorts of model names. I've got a Daihatsu 2-axle rigid-body saloon amongst other oddities.

Surprised that there's still at least 90-odd Quintets though - where the hell are they?

That'll be the Mk5 Mexico special edition, then. Tape-stripe 'n sunroof special.

It says theres once 1 allegro vanden plas left on the road- not right, surely?

Millions of Morris minors!

Just a single FSO Polonez taxed in 2010!

Posted

Some of the attrition rates are phenomenal.

Sierra L, went from eighty-thousand odd in '95, to thirty one today!

Gawd bless the oval.

As above, it'll be the DVLA's slightly hotch-potch naming system - I would wager most of them are under "Vanden Plas 1500".

This made me look again, which MARQUE went from 134,297 in 1994 to just 489 in 2010? (It's not Lancia)

Do a search for "Missing" as well, that's where all the things where they haven't put a model name in exist. Most of those will be imports I suspect.

Fantastic!!

At last a guide to how many V6 safranes left!!

Shows 17 in 2010 but i know of 4 that dissapeared last year,great info,brilliant find,well done.

Apparently, someone somewhere has a Sao Penza on SORN!

Posted

There's another 6 under "SAO Missing".

According to the site, there are still a few thousand Volvo 740s on the road. I wonder where they all are hiding, though?
