Continuing this theme tell us what you were supposed to buy and what you actually ended up with as I'm bloody sure I'm not the only one who does daft things on here.

My parents went out on a Sunday afternoon in 1988 to buy a bag of sugar as we had run out, the only shop which was open in those days was about a mile away and you had to go past the Ford dealer (Jessups of Stourbridge), they came back with a 1983 Ford Sierra 1.6L in Rio Brown with a gold stripe!!

I was looking for a Rover 827 Sterling years ago for all the auto leather it had to offer. I ended up with a rather low-spec Rover 827Si with half-leathers, a manual box and full TWR bodykit.

I did grow to like it very much though and it is missed very much

I'm not playing this game. I just buy whatever looks like fun for the money. Gets me into lots of trouble, but it's more fun than sitting down and working out an ideal spec for something I'll get bored of.

There are a few things I try to look for though, black paint, leather, air con, cruise, armrest, decent stereo and a bit of poke.

It doesn't work well, at the moment I've got three red cars, one with leather, aircon, cruise, armrest, decent stereo and poke. Two with cloth, no a/c, no armrest, no decent stereo and not massive amounts of poke.

Oh, and two black ones. Both with a/c, stereo, and armrests, neither with much poke at all. One's got leather and cruise, but it's the Jeep so doesn't count.

You aren't the only one, here...

Three years ago I went to Marks & Spencers for a loaf and a few other bits and pieces. A early Saturday morning errand, basically. I ended up leaving the area having shook hands on a good deal on an Audi A3… I wouldn't have minded, but I wasn't even looking for a car at that time… The most expensive loaf I’ve ever bought.

Note to self : When in that particular store again, don’t glance across to the car lot across the road...
