That cavalier was the one that was at the practical classics photo shoot I did with the cortina a couple of years ago. He went on and on about it being the oldest, then there was an older one on ebay a week later :lol:

Wot I learned to drive in, late 1986, early '87. An X plate Corrolla, brown, with 285,000 miles on. The gearbox was lovely as you can imagine. Still the original one though....

Some excelent stuff there! Kit car is a Hunter-based Ginetta GRS Tora.And extra points for the slot mags on the 1600E having the inside of the slots painted yellow... :D

This was one of my favourite cars to spot in the late 80's/early 90's, and every one I spotted was in a condition exactly like this one! Brings back good memories.

Pretty sure that's a Dutton Sierra kit car, based on Mk 1 Escort.

Great pics, love the Chelsea Cruise ones, have a few somewhere myself and was there nearly every month in the late 80's/early 90's.

my mate has purchased several cars from East Coast salvage, usually ex mini cabs with a bazzilion miles on the clock. Most recent was a 206 HDI that had been used as a security car and had a load of holes in the roof :lol:

It strikes me its in the tradition of the 70's -80's custom car scene. Loads of stick on tat and no taste or feeling for when to stop....

Oi Seth.........only the poor people just bolted stuff on back then ....most of us did it in steel or fibreglass and it was very tastefull and stylish............to us at least :lol:

That red kit thing looks like a reprofiled Strathcarron SC5A, but the front's completely wrong and has those wank 'jewel' 206 headlights.
