Albert Ross Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Vauxhall Vivaro/Trafic/Primastar rear doors. It wouldn't cost the earth to fettle them for the UK roads....Why make traders/Boy Scouts etc walk round a projection to get to the load or seats? Worryingly used by Isuzu for the Trooper years before...Did anyone at Vauxhall not think to tell their Boss when it was revealed, or were they too scared to hold their hand up?
PatrickMcRebel Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 The whole arse end of this car is just downright clumsy, look at the number plate lights!

I know those VX/Renner/Datsun vans are a bit "challenging" to look at, but they are dang fine machines. Use feck all juice, massive space and lick along at a rate of knots. I like them. Drove my mates' one back from jobs a few times while he slept, and I reckon it was much more efficient and faster and comfier than my old Kangoo.
Cavcraft Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Now, I think thanks to Mercedes, more and more of them are migrating to the door mirrors. It's not just indicators in mirrors.Everything Mercedes does first, the others follow.I give you self cleaning tail lights - Merc 123 & then Caprithen there's a Merc of a couple of years ago that stood out for looking like a banana with skinny windowsOh, new Avensis. I don't know. Plenty of other cars suffered from rust/rot, shit electrics and road springs made out out of plastic before Merc latched on in the nineties.

Jon Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 ^^^^^^^^^^^ Indeed, try and find one which doesn't have a dent in the right hand door right where the latch of the left hand door is......

Renault also stole the march on making about 12 different types of MPV that all do exactly the same thing

pogweasel Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 The introduction of a full hatchback to the FSO Polonez was clearly a great move. But why did they have to make it so gawky?Just a badge in the centre of the bootlid would have done the trick, that vast expanse just looks odd. I can't even remember how you opened it from the outside. There was a remote lever by the driver's seat...
CIH Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Peugeot lost their way when they fired Pinnafarina and started "styling" in-house. I think I read it in Autocar or some such, but the coroprate pleb described their current philosophy as "hyper sports". Like Ford's "kinetic design" that means absolutly nothing. For your amusment/outrage, have a 407 Coupe; -ticks all the boxes I think.
Guest Leonard Hatred Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 I think the 407 coupe looks like a 406 coupe successor until you get to its vile gopping front end.
Pete-M Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 I'd rock a 3.0 406 Coupé, but it'd have to be in the right colour scheme. Then again, I keep looking at 406 V6 Estates and thinking 'hmmm'.
trigger Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 I'd like to make love to a 406/407 coupe, I think that they are one of the most beautiful cars ever made, especially the 407 coupe. (I'm not even joking, well apart from the making love part, even I'm not that sick).
Rusty Pelican Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 ^^^^^^^^^Surely You are joking Trigger , thats fuggly especially the cheesey grin front grill effort ,ive got the urge to paint white teeth in it

mattblack Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 I saw an Audi R8 today... quite impressive, apart from the wheels, which look like the sort of multi-fitment halfrauds RIMZ that 17 year olds fit to Corsas to show off the OMG! RED BRAKE DRUMZ INNIT!!!!!
dollywobbler Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Trig, so much good with the Escort, then you go and spoil it all by saying something stupid like "I love 407s." 406 Coupe is wonderful, as well as a homage to the 404 and 504 Pininfarina coupes. Here's a detail that REALLY pisses me off. The Vauxhall Corsa C rear side window. It just doesn't follow the roofline at all. Yuck! If that wasn't enough, you've then got the droopy rear wiper. Did they leave the factory like that or does 'wiper droop' affect the older Corsa? Give generously and it could be cured.
Claypole Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Tinted rear windows on 3 door cars so dark that it makes them look like vans.
