Show season is looming...

Is there some way a remote mic could be used to 'accidentally' over-ride the twat? It might be fun hiding in the back of a Maestro van and shouting random abuse about Sherpa Sports.

:lol::lol: I'd love to see that!

For Southerners I would highly recommend gathering at the Enfield Pageant, end of May bank holiday. No need to gather to laugh at the MG owners as the Van Rebels (sic) are usually there.

Im going to book mine in at Battlesbridge this year at the end of April i think, that's a very good show and handy for you south east boys.

I'm certain Captain Bumlick will compere once more, unfortunately.

If he uses the standard issue Sennheiser or whatever, I'm sure another radio mic on the same frequency could do the job... with a bit of signal amplification or careful aerial tweakage...

We need to organise this. Then when that blonde bird with the red Ferrari turns up (and wins a prize as normal) we can shout things like' nice tits love' and 'here's that bird I've been knocking off behind her husband's back' etc.

We once sent young kids 7/8 ish into the PA tent at Vanfest (where the bloke was irritating & a little tipsy),

to ask for shout outs because they'd lost their parents who had Woganesque names;

Rudolph Ucker was my favorite

Failing that, maybe some of us Scots could do one closer to home?

Must be enough of us up here to warrant gatecrashing some shows? I'm now shiteless but working on it, but I reckon a bit of co-ordinated assault on shows north and south could work.

I'll also travel dahn sahf if I've got the Cavalier fit...

I am quite lucky living in the middle of the country I suppose!

I haven't yet took any of my cars to any shows, but would like to take the 14 to a couple this year, once I have tidied it up a bit in the spring!!

Does anyone here go to the "chipping steam Rally" in lancashire? I 've been with my old Saab for the last 2 yrs and will be going again this year, A few of us from Aberdeenshire attend and meet up with other old saab nuts. Not a huge show, but gr8 fun, Last year i Managed to offend a few conformist classic owners and a guy with a Healy replica running on halfords alloys.

Okey-dokes, I've mailed Andrew Greenwood just now about Chumbucketly Castle to sound out costs and numbers. It's usually around the last Bank Holiday weekend of May so would guess it's going to be Sunday 29th May this year. I'll let you know when I have numbers allowed and see if we'll have to book two areas again.

That's a shame Trig but if that's you in your signature I ain't going to argue. You look like you tortured six formers at Hardknock High in 1988.

I'm definately up for a gathering at a show. Not overly fussed where, within reason I'll drive a fair distance just to moan about overpriced burgers, laugh at the MG Owners Club and take a few photos on the wrong settings.

Would you be going to one of the Andrew Greenwood's shows at Thoresby Hall (Bank Hol May and Aug), or Newark Autojumble every month (except August)?

My only problem with Newark Autojumble is that I can see work from the showground so it's a nasty reminder for the whole Sunday :D

Not heard about the Thoresby shows, are they worth a poke?

I'm really liking the sound of us invading lots of shows with our shite. Spread the word nationwide!

If Chumley is a May Bank Holiday, that may count me out as I always tend to have stuff on around then.

Just have a look at the cars in the bit where they park the 'Classics' - always a good mixture, and try not to look. Thoresby is worth a look, Gompo posted some photos from last year's show.

I'll to Chodley, but have a stag do sometime which may clash..

battlesbridge is a pretty good show, nice and easy to get to as well

Cholmondley's not massively far away from me as long as there's some sort of Premier Inn type establishment in the vicinity. I reckon the Violet would make it OK.

Might be the same for me, will be 5 hours from Plymouth

i dont think the crayford will be goin to any shows unless its on that trailer or could sweep it up n put it in a bucket!

I'd be up for coming, anywhere within a few hours' drive...

As long as there's space to hide my uninteresting Astra, as there's about a 0.1% chance of me having anything else ready.

Thoresby is alright, I'll probably go again. Not masses of super-shite but some decent wagons get rolled out.

Must be a decent show or two we could all do. Maybe another epic marathon for the prized AS banner? Some research required methinks.

Battlesbridge sounds good, very local and I should be able to make it this year - possibly in the A35.

I think the first show of the year for me will be the Austin-Morris Day on 6th March at Brooklands in Surrey, I'm hoping to drive the A35 there with my dad following in the Maestro. I think BMC Dan is going, anyone else?

The AS banner is currently in my custody, and I travel around most of England on a regular basis.

Thanks, Pete. I'll try to let you know in good time, if/when anything comes to pass.
