Anyone know where I can get a Talbot Express badge for my MG?,although it doesn't have any badges on it so I wouldn't be replacing anything :)

I say old boy, that's a bit strong. That son-of-rockstar Cahrlie Gilmour probably has an Audi TT. Given the slagging he got last night on 5Live, he probably wishes he was on The Dark Side Of The Moon right now.

He said he "didn't realise it was the Cenotaph"

He's at Cambridge. Studying History.

What a fucking nob.

I haven't read much past the headlines on this but it does show what's gone wrong with society. Not the fact that he did it, but the grovelling apology. Stick by your actions or don't do it.

"didn't realise it was the Cenotaph"

Public flogging.

On both counts (desecration and mind-boggling, moronic stupidity).

Mind you, that's what you reap for the last 20 odd years of nanny-state molly coddling.

There's at least one hearse badged up as such around Leeds.

Yep I can confirm this to be true as it carried Grandma_Lobsta to her own funeral in June.

I know this is the wrong thread for this so I'm sorry but what i saw Thursday did anger me, The behavior of some of those was disgusting and embarrassing, I understand many of them were just students on a peaceful march which I'm cool with, It was the thugs that struggle to spell their own name let alone ever go to university that pissed me off, You just know that anyone turning up on a protest with full facial balaclavas was just out for trouble.

The police should have pulled those dressed like that out of the crowd and gave then a dam good beating, and the bloke found taking a piss up the side of the Sir Winston Churchill Statue should of have is cock cut off.

As for Charlie Gilmore...

"I feel nothing but shame" Of course you do, You cock.

Sorry, Rant over

The great majority, in fact; but this is an inconvenient truth that is not reflected in the biased reporting of events.

Excessive thread drift. Sorry... :D

Anyone know where I can buy some Hummer badges for the Fronterror?

Like this, you mean?

(Made to order for the owner...)

As for the fake Bentleys, I can't believe I'm not smelling the lawsuits from all the way over here! Maybe I should use the Wolseley grille I happen to have, for my A40... after all, it IS going to be a luxury version of the basic Austin.

Yes, I vaguely remember that, I used to read Hot Car every month! (Now replaced by Practical Classics and Writing Magazine.) I might still use the grille, but it means reshaping the bonnet, or possibly cutting the front bumper. Have to work out how to do it without losing the starting-handle hole... :D

Sorry to waver off-topic again, but it's heartening to see people protesting on the streets rather than whinging on internet forums, newspaper online comments sections etc.

I'd love to see a few of the folk who've bought these. I'm imagining a chubby wide boy in his early forties who owns a few diggers and rents them out for a living, obv got a personal plate and probably has an L200 ANIMAL with 'Barry Khan' wheels for going on building sites with digger spares and that. Would love a real Bentley but is just not there yet financially. Got a house in Spain near where loads of other fat-headed english folk live, but he's wishing he'd never bought that now.

We live in a large ranch-style property that were valued in October 05 at 530K.

We own 2 great danes - a harlequin dog and a brindle bitch and have stabling for 4 horses (though we've only got 2 horses at the moment) We have garaging for 3 cars plus plenty of additional hardstanding areas, so needless to say I drive several vehicles including an 07 Mitsubishi L200. (See DAVE'S MITSI)

I own 3 quadbikes, and a jetski which is an absolute pearler (for details click on DAVE'S JETSKI). I partake in many sports and hobbies, including golf, quadbiking, paragliding, and scuba diving (PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certificate, and in 2004 - hopefully - Dive Propulsion Vehicle (DPV) plus Search and Recovery)

:) I might put some Porsche badges on one of my Rapids. As long as I play a tape of a 911's engine note as I drive no one will know the difference.

The real reason I bought my new car was of course to turn it into a Ferrari 355 replica

Sadly, I quite like the 300C. No fan of the Bentley badges though.

Even though the public would hate me and I'd never get let out of a junction ever again, SRT8 + black paint + black wheels = epic win

Why not do it the other way and turn a 355 into an MR2?

I'd love to do that! And then go to a Ferrari owners club outing, having painted the car Toyota Super red, and changed the hubs to fit the 15 inch alloys like NC's.

What are those Chryslers like to drive?

They are not too bad. They are very big, smooth and quiet, not overly responsive though. I drove one around Cradley Heath last year. I quite like them :|

I am surprised the 'proper' Bentley have not been in touch with these badge sellers for copyright infringment or similar.

Rolls Royce used to be very strict with anybody playing around with the flying lady and the grille.

the badges dont say bentley, just B

so im not sure any moaning or legal action by bentley would be successful

Posted

It's a very stylised "B", so I'm pretty sure they would win any legal case no bother. The McDonalds arches are just an "M" and they've successfully sued loads of people over it. However, since stickers are so easy to produce there is no point - there'll be dozens of people doing it (many based abroad) and there'll always be someone to step in and replace them.

Spotted a Red ST focus in the works car park the other day that looked a bit odd from the front. On closer inspection it had one of these..

Is it my imagination or when growing up in the late 80's/early 90's did I keep seeing the ford badge in lots of different colours?

Posted

I remember green ones for cars with unleaded capability. Late 80s, early 90s...

Also pink ones on Cabrio Escorts!

Posted

Alls you had to do with your old ford badges was take them off and with a fine grade wet and dry sand the colour off the back you didnt have to worry about the silver detail around the oval and the letter as this was in a groove below the surface. then repaint them your desired colour, simples

I'm thinking of doing that with the Austin badges on my A40*.

*Having acquired a spare (and better) grille, I now have two which I'm thinking will go one-each-side elsewhere on the car, leaving the lightly-modified grille clear.

I have a half red, half black ford oval badge somewhere, someone tell me it is speshul and worth £3000 please.
