OMG I have just bought an Allegro

This Allegro has been going round e-bay for the last few months. It was originally for sale in Stourbridge.

Have just won it on e-bay for £370. It is only in Worcester so going to pick it up later this week.

Should complement the 14 nicely as neither were held in high regard in the own countries.

It looks like it might be quite a bargain considering the high value of these exotic motors on e-bay atm!!

That seems a good buy.

As an ex Allegro owner I can say they are not nearly as bad as they are supposed to be :)

My first car after I passed my driving test 12 years ago was an Allegro bought in Stourbridge. :D

Completely agree! I drove my (at the time) 17-year-old Allegro all around the UK in the space of just over a year - from Cornwall to the Lake District and Wales. I only got rid of it cos I wanted a 'cooler' car, which turned out to be a far more unreliable G reg Polo.

Congratulations! Looks like a smashing car, and this is my favourite colour on the Aggros.

The engine looks absolutely lost in that cavernous bay!

Class! Best colour too, as others have said.

Brilliant. The quintessential 70's car should always come in a lovely shade of 'Baby shit green'. Funky.

Im going to reveal how sad i was as a kid sitting in "startins" BL showroom while my car dealer dad was buying p/x`s in the sales managers office, everytime he took me with him i refused to wait in the car and always wondered around the showroom drooling over the display of brand new allegro`s, maxi`s, mini`s etc, i often sat and studied the brochures and colour charts and from memory this allegro looks a bit too late to be "limeflower", im sure the colour is "Antque Gold"

WOW - luvin it and I now have a stiffy I am very jealous - I bnemoan my poverty as there are so many good deals going around at the moment!

and in Nappy Slime Green as well - my favourite BL colour - even better than poo brown AND with a beige interior.

congratulations sir!

Just shows there is still a bargain to be had!!

I've never driven an Allegro and do quite fancy a Series 3 HLS with vinyl roof of course. Beige would be fine.

You star! 8)

It is indeed Antique Gold. I have had my eye on this but unfortunately couldn't justify another car at present. Aside from being a 1300 it's identical to the 1500 Super my dad bought in 1989. We had it for 5 years and I miss it greatly, hence every time I see one like this I have a pang of nostalgia. There was one in The Sweeney the same the other night too!

Here's one I spotted at the BMC/BL day a couple of years ago:

Magnificent, splendid and a bargain too!

Love the definitive 'seventies BL colour.

Is it me or do they look a bit 'wrong' with a round wheel? It's like they deigned the whole dash around the quartic jobbie.

17/10 on your purchase though
