Well its midnight and I am at the emergency vet. My poor wee Cain terrier has acute liver failure. Came on in a matter of hours. I am waiting for the test results and will then put her to sleep. Poison of some sortwhat a shirt fucking day.

Aw man, that's awful. We've had ours to the vet again today for various things so I feel for you.

you have my sympathy

we nearly lost a dog under similar circumstances a few years ago, it was touch and go for 48 hours, two years on, the dog still isnt fully recovered

Ooh, that's rough. Our thoughts are with you, not least 'cos we had something similar happen to one of the hounds a few years back.

In my experience, there is very little that's as painful as losing a faithful friend like that....I'm really sorry....

thanks folks, she didn't make it, only 8 years old as well - nothing for a terrier - some chemical took out her liver in about 4 hours. Got home at 6.30 and told the family - wee boy is devastated - fucking shit month this - I need my gall bladder out, I've been made redundant and to cap it all the dog's dead.......

could be worse - think of those poor folk in Pakistan

I might buy somthing shit and beige to cheer myself up

Scooters , when your at the bottom the only way is up , no age for your poor pooch and very sad , redundancy is on the cards at work here too , Countrys gone all to pot

Beigeness is the way forward

just means they can charge 4 x the normal rate for the antisocial hours!

it was like I lost a friend, she'd been with me 15 years and through some difficult times in my life was one constant, it's over two years afo and I still miss her.

aye I felt the same when mine got put down 3.5 years ago, still look for her everytime I come in the house

Get a new dog.

You do have another one already though don't you?

Sorry to hear it. These were the only terriers I have ever known to not bark at me incessantly. Was shocked when I managed to get in your house with my ankles.
