Spotter's Log: Harpenden Classics On The Common

Ah the P21...wondrous device. Had one in my Granada. Marvellous spots. How much would the over-riders on the Scrote cost as an option new, I wonder?

Posted

Probably a whack less than they're making on the bay nowadays. I must dig the ones I had on my mk3 out and get them flogged...Incidentally, that Bermuda Blue seemed to differ in shade between the model years, or else it faded horribly on certain cars. Back in the day a mate had an '84 mk2 Fiesta 957 Popular, and it was nowhere near the colour of his friend's '86 1.1 Ghia. Sadly I cant see many old Fords being restored into that colour.

It is time for Mr. Seth to once again guess my route this weekend.

Another BL treat, in the form of a Mini Clubman

Posted Image

Exactly like the Dinky one I have. Really enjoy seeing cars that are identical to my old toy cars, also think the same if I ever see a very early white Rover 3500

Posted Image

Dont normally allow this kind of thing on here, but the A is quite nice, and the B is a chromed up spoke wire version. Mr H Sceptre is going to punch me in the baloons for this

Posted Image

These are massive, old Audi 100 Estate

Posted Image

Hope this makes up for it - super early Suzuki Alto

This is a pretty outstanding thread! Don't think I've ever seen so many fantastic cars on one page before!.Never knew there was so many old cars still knocking around London nether, Are tax exempt cars also congestion charge exempt as well?.

Posted

Crikey! Marvellous to see that 626 saloon clinging on.For my ‘significant’ birthday next year I was thinking about some kind of driving event, but maybe a day’s cycling round London in the company of EL and Mr_HS might be rather more fun?...

That sounds like a great idea! Perhaps they could start a tour company together with Torsten to do guided tours for shite-seeing! It's an increadible page of top spots.
Posted

I've got no idea where any of that is! Truly fantastic spots. I think I shan't bother carrying a camera with me any more...

Posted

Epic spottage thread, thats made my week seeing all those GR8 old motors still in use, or at least still surviving!I WANT to live in London :D

Glad you're enjoying the London Metropolitan Spotting so far this year. But for now, a quick interlude from down under, getting some spotting in prior to the impending birth of my firstborn in the next few days right here in Melbourne.

So day 1 I step outside my other half's house and this is the sight I see across the road all sellotaped tpgether, these Mitsubishis are everywhere

Posted

Giving way in traffic to this Toyota

Posted Image

That's no AE86 DRIFT etc. First thing that came to mind.

Great spots, I love foreign found yad.

Posted

Regarding the mystery cars I shall guess that the red one is a Ford Falcon, and the white one is a hot Holden Torana. I'll take the Hunter Royale (with cheese) please.

Posted

Oz pics are glorious, that green Hunter is a beaut but I don't recognise the rear lights

Going back to London momentarily. it struck me how tiny the Visa look s sandwiched here, especially in terms of comparitive wheel sizes:

Posted Image:?

Posted

That silver/grey Toyota wagon in 8) How do you live in London and get a woman in Melbourne preggo??

Posted
