Have you got a next car in mind?

Browsing ebay wistfully, picturing yourself at the (quartic?) wheel of a fine new car? Imagine the firm support of the vinyl seats and think how that push-button AM radio will improve your life...

C'mon, you're amongst friends here, what are you after?

Perhaps you've got an open mind, if you're continually exposed to glossy magazines you might think a new Audi would make you complete. Keep browsing here and a diesel Granada fills that space.

I'm quite pleased with my Ginetta, but I can't stop looking for something else, I think there's a part of my brain which keeps trying to get me into trouble.

You?

Yes, as soon as I find somewhere else to live the van is going as I'll have no need for it. I want one of these

Another Ford Falcon, this particular model being worth several shite points. This all depends on finding a job though. If/when I get back to the UK and have raise some money I want:

You?

Ex Pete-M 635 on the drive, and ex-Scooters Golf Cab' awaiting collection.

My brain's got me into enough shit already this last couple of weeks!

I always have an eye open for the next car, but as I'm a bit limited for space I think the three I have are enough for now. But yes, I do have a couple of options lined up already, not least the white Alfa in one of my other threads. It's for sale... :D

Calibra, though two doors is a nuisance so maybe not.

I'm also going through that 'good idea/stupid idea' phase of considering an Alfa 156.

Got the horn for a Limeflower Landcrab atm...

I think I know where you could find one.....

Oh aye Scott? ;)

Seriously, I've always regretted not snapping this one up, it was just down the road from me, a one owner local car that had spent its whole life under cover and was lovely. Unfortunately the owner had inflated ideas about value, it was on Ebay twice and each time the bidding finished at about a grand, reserve not met. I did go to see it and it was nice, but the front o/s wing had been parked next to a tumble dryer vent in the garage and was full of filler, and the power steering pump was dry. Came on Car and Classic later for about 2 grand, way out of my price range sadly. I have to say I do prefer the Wolseley versions (does this mean I'm a snob?) ;)

No idea what happened to it in the end.

I'm still keeping my eye open for a car but yet to find it, Keep wishing i kept the 1602 now but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Once i get my whiplash payout I'll be back in the market again for some shite, Sadly whatever it is, it will have to be under 186" in fit in the garage

I have this dilemma almost daily!

Ideally, I need to prize Mr. B's 929 koop out his grubby mits at some point, and when I replace the E320 I want an S500L as a daily, around a 2000 plate ideally.

I also fancy building another BIG Hilux, and a low one too. I haven't owned a lowrider, so that's on the list, and a Lancia Y10, the one we didnt get over here.

Would like to get another R8 Rover to go alongside the N reg one in my thread, maybe an estate with the "later" dashboard, would prefer it to be Rover engined though, never really liked the estates until recently and saw a few nice ones pass through ebay and there is one on ebay which is quite close for £200. It's the wrong colour though, would prefer a green or blue one.

Jaguar XJ6, Merecedes W140, BMW 730, Lexus GS300 (Toyota Aristo) LS400.

Then on the other end of the scale.....

Mk2 Cavalier, Sierra Sapphire Ghia.

A mate of mine recently offered me a Mercedes E240 Avantgarde.

I dont have working car at the moment, looking to get my Micra back on the road. So I'm just dreaming.

After all the recent rumblings on here I really fancy an Acclaim, but sadly the one which sat in our work's car park for aaaaages - A982 GRK IIRC, a metallic reddy-brown Triomatic - has now vanished.

The really inexplicable urges at the moment are an early Peugeot 405 saloon, a Fiat Regatta or an Astra Belmont. Never driven any of them, and I've only ever been in two 405s... still fancy one though.

I shall refrain until I have a Polonez...

I've got a list of stuff I've got to own before I get all sensible.

Jag XJR V8

Merc E55

Merc E500

Merc 450 SEL 6.9

Capri Perana

Aston Martin V8 Vantage (Proper '80s POW one)

Audi S8

Audi RS6 Avant (V8 one, natch)

Rangie Supercharged (Full fat, not the Sport)

Porsche 928 GTS

Decent GT40 recreation

I know none of them are shite, but they're what's on the must have list.

Having said that, I still long for a Pug 604 STi, maybe a 505 Turbo, and a 2 door 2.3 Ghia Taurus / Taunus / Whatever Jonny Furriner called the Cortina Mk4. It'd have to have at least a 2.8 injection lump though.

It's got to be a van for me - defo starting to need more space.

And had that twunt not given the 323 it's first dent I might have had a swop scenario!

My daily, and my MX-5, are going to be around for a while yet I hope....I may be persuaded into a BG Mazda 323f again though....If a nice one comes along while I happen to have a spare few quid in the bank....Love 'em! 8)

205 GTI. 1.6, 115bhp, post-facelift. Ideally red and not buggered about with.

The ol' Polonez is very comfy, I had one which I loved. My dad had one at the same time... :D RWD too, which is always a plus. Here's mine:

This one is an ex-rally car and now rests in a village just outside Paphos.

And this is a low-mileage one that for no apparent reason has been left to fester by the sea. Yes, that's the Med in the background.

Any of the following in no particular order.

Hillman Hunter GLS

Rover SD1 series 1 v8

Opel Ascona B

Opel Manta A/B

Audi quattro

Audi 100 Coupe S

Audi 90 quattro

Mercedes 450 SEL

Fiat 130 coupe

I have a large amount of want for a SEAT Malaga at the moment.

Or a Mk2 Golf whilst there are still some standard ones left and the none GTi models aren't that expensive yet.

Posted

Mostly 80's bilge by way of a few 70's mingers.

Isuzu Piazza HBL (working on that one)

Volvo 480 Turbo (although Pete says I'll be disappointed).

Citroen BX 16v \ Peugeot 405 Mi 16 (although I can sample the latter again soon).

Citroen GS (preferably the Break and definitely tax exempt).

God knows...waiting for the sale of my flat to go through. I'll be spoilt for choice then. :D

May likely be an un-shite car though as it will have to be a long term runner once I try and attempt to rejoin the property ladder in 2011/12.

Current possibilities are Alfa 147, Hyundai Coupé or Toyota Celica. I have no kids so practicality isn't important.

Posted

Should have also included the following:

XJ40 4.0, needs to be a nice spec'd one mind.

XJS V12, pre-HE for stupid consumption and what not.

Early, original SD1 Mk1 (or pre-face lift/whatever they're called) ideally in metallic gold.

P6 Rover.

Porsche 944.

Oh, and especially a white Austin 3-litre.

My work is relocating in a few months, and it'll put my daily mileage up to 100 kilometers a day.... which means it'll put a bit more strain on ol' faithful Volvo 360.... but I'll run it as long as I can - It's the only MkIII around.

Probably going to be borrowing the Missus' Hyundai Getz if worst comes to worst...

I'd love another Volvo but affordable parts are getting to be a real issue, so the next daily motor will probably be something bland, dull and cheap... Hyundai Sonata V6's are supposed to be fairly entertaining.........

Hyundai Getz if worst comes to worst...

Eeek, it really would be! I did a regular commute like that in my old 740 GLE estate, perfect old tool for the job. However if you can foresee parts trouble then the Sonata might be a good idea. Always go for the top engine if you can... :D

I have already announced my intention: Maser Quattroporte Evoluzione.

Need to finish the Jag first though, and replace the E39 with something sensible. Then that time will come.

Also, a Tagora. I had that plan a long while before I stumbled upon Autoshite - in fact it was search for more info about them that led me here. Used to be an SX, but I've been autoshited into thinking a DT might be more great.

Will have to sell first, would have to be the 1100 next month when I have mot'd it, won't sell the R14 for a long time..

I really fancy a Lada or FSO at the moment for some inexplicable reason, otherwise wouldn't mind another Maxi.

Anything BMC really, but particularly a Landcrab, Princess, Allegro or Marina.

The idea of a Ford Cortina mark 4 or 5 gives me the horn at the moment also.

Feeling the love for some Volvoness at the moment. A 164 or an early 264. I'd really love a 142s but that's out of my price range at the moment.
