I flew out to the US a month ago, came back without a key but the car was unlocked. I’ve had a key cut but they can’t program it till tomorrow, I live in Nottingham car is at Heathrow. Once the car is programmed does anyone want it for the 2 days of parking which I think is about 30 quid? Mot is up Sunday it’s not financially viable for me to collect it.

I should clarify, I paid 300 to park it, you would just be paying the over stay or I can reimburse that..

Extremely tempted but it feels like taking advantage of your situation.

Is the new key being sent to you in Nottingham?

Possibly helping more than taking advantage.

If it doesn't get moved the charges will rise and he would likely have to pay for removal due to it's present position...........no?

Does look good in the photo.

Looks a flipping great thing, may need tyres but a 50k 1.6 primera p11 is something I always thought I might one day own.  Go for it @MrGTI6

As Pete says above. @sharley17194 wants it gone, looks like a situation that would suit you both. Go for it!

I'd take a rope, then if the key fits but it doesn't start, drag it out and ring your breakdown assuming it will cover the car.

Brakes will be dodgy down the ramps though. Hope its on ground level.

'It started then stopped'.

Yellow taxi.

Correct! Financially it’s going to cost a fortune to get unless local as I can’t get it for a number of days and the mot will be up! , I’ve also just purchased a reliant Robin that I need to fetch. I’m tempted to train to London the drive it to Bournemouth, get the Robin so if anyone is down south and wants it dropping off that’s a possibility too!

Just to vouch that I have been for a few rides in this car and its in lovely condition. Its proper FOTU fodder and virtually immaculate. I suspect it would fly through an MOT.

Its a real shame its ended up in this situation but its hopefully not the end of the car.

I'm glad someone else has gone for it - I was bloody tempted to add to my fleet of dark blue Nissans and my dad had one just like this growing up.

I have no need for it though heading west mid afternoon today. If its in danger of not living on ill use it to get me to work and get a ticket on it during the week.

It was all getting a bit touch-and-go, but I've just received news from @sharley17194 that the chap has managed to successfully code the new key to the Primera.

I broke the news to MrsGTI6. She thinks I'm mad for picking up a car I haven't seen from an airport car park late in the evening.

In fact, she's convinced it's stashed full of drugs which have been smuggled in from abroad.

But it looks like the last-minute collection is on for tonight! It could be a very late evening...

That would be a bonus wouldn't it!

All drugs remain the property of current owner....

Its a good car and seems no body will steal it even when its open for 3 weeks and with the key in it....

I can smell the inside from here.

Just arrived back home. I'm knackered but the Primera was superb. Started up first time having been sat for a few weeks and cruised at 70 most of the way home.

Next step... get it booked in for an MOT!

That's brilliant.

Had it been Luton, I'd have been all over that. A mate is flying back in from Poland and wanted me to pick him up, but I finish early in the morning and have some running about to do before I can sleep.

@MrGTI6 please keep us updated on the car. Ole' Dad_Sterling had one of these in that burnt orange colour they came in some years ago.

Any further thoughts now it's the cold light of day? Has your wife found the drugs yet?

My first full day with the Primera, so I decided to press it straight into service to see how it copes with the daily commute. So how was it? Totally uneventful. In the best possible way of course.

Thought I'd see if there was any evidence of a timing belt change as I'm not a fan of playing cambelt roulette. No concerns there; turns out it's got a chain so no belt to worry about.

The only thing that leaves on the to-do list is the tracking. It's only out a smidge but that's my only niggle. It drives perfectly otherwise.

My usual MOT guy is on holiday until the end of the month and the local garage is booked up for a couple of weeks. I might risk booking it in with a local fast-fit centre this weekend.
