Like it says. I could use some cash in a hurry, like this weekend, and don't want to use the payday loans or Nigerian Transfer method. I have tools, can travel within reasonable distance. Anyone desperate for work doing? On vehicles like.... not houses, old ladies, or drive-bys.

Will you do me an MOT over the phone? Please.

Arsehats, need a new A/C compressor putting in our Galaxy, but I can't afford the part this week.

If you can shift any of these for me you can have any money over the listed price you can get for them?

Item number: 170516052626

Too many peasants on Ebay with shallow pockets.

Erm, possibly. Need a 'new' (read second hand) interior heater or bushes and the pollen filter seal sorting on a 1998 Passat TD Sport.

It's dependant on me getting the bits and having the readies so can't guarantee anything at the moment sorry.

Damn! If only I had the spare cash, I could do with...

1. Head gaskets doing on my 1 Rover Sterling (Dont have bits needed anyway)

2. Automatic Gearbox fitting on my 2nd Rover Sterling (Have spare gearbox in Evesham, car in Telford :? )

Alas I dont have any spare cash, as I've just lost yet another job

Sorry :(

Bugger, are you sure I cant tempt you with gardening type duties? I has several tonnes of earth and a couple of tree stumps needing shiting.

Sorry, MOT's are to be "seen" only...... (How bad do you think I am??)

As for the lack of parts difficulties you guys are having, I feel for you brothers, I feel for you.

Ted..... Shiting or shifting? Freudian Slip?

Pooters ain't something people come to me for...... But I can try for you if you need a few sales.

Mr Hirst appears to have embraced the spirit of the plea, and I shall be in touch shortly Sir. Would you also require a cambelt on a Stanza??

Thankyou for your kind attentions people!

Got my brushes from this bloke

Straightforward job, less than hour to sort. Not replaced a seal though. I presume it's leaking water?

This weekend is a no goer for me, but I may take you up on this at some point soon if thats okay as am not too hot on the mechanical side of cars and want to sell a couple, so could do with a mechanical spruce up to make them looks better to the punters.

I feel bad making Volksy work on my cars all the time.

It is indeed. A brief 'Google' reveals common fault, I think the filter gets knackered then the seals give in which results in a swimming pool on the o/s/r floor.

Thanks for the link will get straight on that as it needs doing urgently.

*Apologies to Albert for the hijack

The filter housing leaks where it fits to the body - usually as a result of hamfisted filter changing or never changing it. Don't bother trying to reseal it - a new OE housing is about £15 or thereabouts. Whatever you do, DO NOT leave it - the soundproofing soaks water up like a, well, sponge. Eventually rotting the n/s wiring harness through. Did loads of complete carpet/wiring repairs @ VW....

Unfortunately, unless you notice water ingress whilst in the vehicle, by the time you notice the rear footwells full, or the musty smell (oooer) the soundproofing has started to rot. We once left a front carpet hanging on a stepladder for approx 4 weeks - was still soaking. Always has a suspicion it was made from the same stuff as a JML WonderShammy :-)

Back on topic - would love to point the Fronterror your way, but Bewdley to Doncaster and I'd be looking for all my fillings!

I'm fine with Hijacks, living in Dick Turpin's territory......

As for Front-terrors, I absolutely never work on them by principle!!

Mr Imp, seems like a good idea to me, you being local, and that.

I'm half way through doing the HG on my Pao, head is off, cleaned up, valves lapped in, ready to refit, needs putting back on, rockers etc refitting and the carb etc putting back on. How much to lob it all back together? :)

Is it only for this weekend, or are you generally open to doing work like this?

How averse are you to none-shite and replacing bushes? My 1999 Integra probably needs some of the rear suspension/trailing arm bushes doing..

Cheers.

Its a shame I live so far away - could do with a new door lock barrel fitted to the drivers door of my Scrote & the installation of my Alpine CD player removed from my written-off Ibiza (wiring & connectors are a bit different)

Would just like to say that Albert K Ross is a top-notch mechanic and has done loads of work for me in the past, he is in fact a mainstay of the Hirst Cabs overhaul regime.

On that basis, with a bit of luck he'll be putting a new cambelt onto the Stanza shortly. Once that's done, I'll probably wait for August and then stick a tax disc on it so I can make a great first impression at my new Wakefield job, especially since one side currently has a grey primer bottom half.
