Got the price down a bit further in the end but the gearbox will need some attention/replacing if I'm unlucky. But even then it's still going to be financially viable considering the mileage.

I think a gearbox specialist is the first port of call rather than a LR specialist. May be able to save you some money. Maybe even just a service can salvage it.

Whereabouts is the RR, and would it be beneficial for me to drive it up to Hexham?

Stockport is the location. Arrangements have been provisionally made to bring Schaefft to stockport this saturday unless you think it would be easier for you to take the RR up to Hexham.

Desperate to get back into a L322 (or L320) and see these are a bit cheaper than some Td6 models.

The torque really suits it. Im not sure if this one has had a map or something at some point but it feels really strong.
Its made me want one, the only issue being the pitfalls of the diesel engine over the petrol.

If i do get another it will be a 3.6 or 4.4 facelift jobbie i think. Not sure if itll ever happen but i could definitely see myself smoking around in one.

With things being a little less exciting than usual it's time to change that.

There is a parallel development after I received an email from an interested tenant late yesterday evening. He happens to be very much into the same cars (his flatmate has an '08 Cadillac CTS, what are the chances?) and sent me a link to a car I've been after for years, and this one might finally not be complete f*cked. And it's on my way back to Hexham!

The seller agreed to a viewing later today so stay tuned for that...

Unfortunately I got a message from the seller of the mystery car. Despite only being listed yesterday evening someone already committed to buying it. Just how things go when something rare for a good price comes up.
