This is the reverse version of a collection thread that I would have done had I not had my Sierra delivered.

Good luck!

Good to see someone still eating PROPER FUCKING BREAKFASTS. None of your Belvita shit or limp-wristed fruit.

Good luck with your mission, and your poos.

Mushrooms?  What kind of depraved pervert are you?

Safe travels!

Square sosij?

Edit: numbnuts over here got so distracted by the mystery square object he didn't see the two regular sausages.

Let's not get started on the superiority of Scotch "corners".

Eggs look overcooked.

Good luck!

They were alright actually - yolks were of an ideal viscosity

I requested that they be put straight in the bin.

Anyway - plane’s on the ground, waiting to disembark.

BA planes are not built for the leggy:

@bramz7 is en route, we’ve arranged a rolling jump-in at the T5 pick-up/drop-off

I love car collections, nothing like that feeling of adventure and dread.

@bramz7 is now on his merry way home again - pleasure to meet you sir!

Without further ado:

And, as an added bonus:

Also, brought some period-appropriate listening material for the CD changer:

….only to get the “bloop” of “it doesn’t work” when trying to pick it through the radio. Arse.

Stopped in Solihull, having a dump in Waitrose.

Laguna runs like a dream - was able to clip along nicely at 70-75 (+ VAT), comfy as anything. Been a while since I’ve driven a car of that vintage, as it took me a minute to get used to the weight of the steering and the thinness of the rim. But so far so good. Added bonus to the sunroof: the A/C actually does work! The way the door vent’s positioned, I’m going to get frostbite on my hand by the time I get to the boat.

317 miles to go according to Google, ETA of 5:15 - boat’s not until 7:30, so if anyone has any recommendations around Gretna/Dumfries for a bite and a (0%) pint, that’d be swell.

Test of Frenchness: close, but no cigar:

The Kings Arms in Castle Douglas used to be quite good. Maybe worth a shot. Just off the A75.

Pit-stop at Tebay:

Stopped at Gretna for fuel (£1.60/l, get to absolute fuck), and did a fill-to-fill average - driving at “making good time” speeds gives an average of 34mpg - and that’s with the engine singing around 4.2k a good chunk of the way. So I’d say 40mpg should be more than achievable at a NSL run. For a 2.0l petrol working on 30-year-old tech, I’m impressed.

And that’s me done on the mainland - Staines to Stranraer, via Solihull for a shite:

So nice to see a well planned three country collection thread.
