Dave_Q Posted May 3, 2025 Posted May 3, 2025 I also once did kinda this in reverse to collect a Subaru from Belfast. Chodspeed. Jim Bell and Turbowomble 1 1
grogee Posted May 3, 2025 Posted May 3, 2025 Good to see someone still eating PROPER FUCKING BREAKFASTS. None of your Belvita shit or limp-wristed fruit. Good luck with your mission, and your poos. brownnova, High Jetter, privatewire and 20 others 6 1 7 9

DeanH Posted May 3, 2025 Posted May 3, 2025 Square sosij? Edit: numbnuts over here got so distracted by the mystery square object he didn't see the two regular sausages.

Turbowomble Posted May 3, 2025 Author Posted May 3, 2025 Anyway - plane’s on the ground, waiting to disembark. BA planes are not built for the leggy: @bramz7 is en route, we’ve arranged a rolling jump-in at the T5 pick-up/drop-off Jim Bell, Dave_Q, mk2_craig and 2 others 5
stripped fred Posted May 3, 2025 Posted May 3, 2025 I love car collections, nothing like that feeling of adventure and dread.
Turbowomble Posted May 3, 2025 Author Posted May 3, 2025 @bramz7 is now on his merry way home again - pleasure to meet you sir! Without further ado: And, as an added bonus: CreepingJesus, Stanky, Floatylight and 35 others 33 5
Turbowomble Posted May 3, 2025 Author Posted May 3, 2025 Also, brought some period-appropriate listening material for the CD changer: ….only to get the “bloop” of “it doesn’t work” when trying to pick it through the radio. Arse. eddyramrod, GregZX, Peter C and 10 others 8 5
Turbowomble Posted May 3, 2025 Author Posted May 3, 2025 Stopped in Solihull, having a dump in Waitrose. Laguna runs like a dream - was able to clip along nicely at 70-75 (+ VAT), comfy as anything. Been a while since I’ve driven a car of that vintage, as it took me a minute to get used to the weight of the steering and the thinness of the rim. But so far so good. Added bonus to the sunroof: the A/C actually does work! The way the door vent’s positioned, I’m going to get frostbite on my hand by the time I get to the boat. 317 miles to go according to Google, ETA of 5:15 - boat’s not until 7:30, so if anyone has any recommendations around Gretna/Dumfries for a bite and a (0%) pint, that’d be swell. Scruffy Bodger, Jim Bell, crad and 3 others 6
Turbowomble Posted May 3, 2025 Author Posted May 3, 2025 Test of Frenchness: close, but no cigar: AnnoyingPentium, Jim Bell, mercedade and 1 other 2 2

Turbowomble Posted May 3, 2025 Author Posted May 3, 2025 Pit-stop at Tebay: privatewire, Tickman, Peter C and 8 others 11
Turbowomble Posted May 3, 2025 Author Posted May 3, 2025 Stopped at Gretna for fuel (£1.60/l, get to absolute fuck), and did a fill-to-fill average - driving at “making good time” speeds gives an average of 34mpg - and that’s with the engine singing around 4.2k a good chunk of the way. So I’d say 40mpg should be more than achievable at a NSL run. For a 2.0l petrol working on 30-year-old tech, I’m impressed. Tickman, AnnoyingPentium, stripped fred and 3 others 6
Turbowomble Posted May 3, 2025 Author Posted May 3, 2025 And that’s me done on the mainland - Staines to Stranraer, via Solihull for a shite: warninglight, Datsuncog, Cookiesouwest and 10 others 13
