my Metro is looking awesome, in a Metro kind of way.....

Sorry for the pic but its been sat on the drive off the road for a year and Ive just cleaned it up, Mot next week and should be fine. Now running VVC engine, lowered and individualised Hydrolastic suspension, custom made stainless steal exhaust, gay stickers...

For proper shite, thats my standard MK1 MG Metro in the background of the last pic 8)

how has it been modified?

1.4 spi engine has been replaced with a 1.8 vvc ZR 160 engine. The standard exhaust has been replaced with a custom built stainless steel decat system (Powerspeed in Ashford), Hydrolastic suspension has been lowered and individualised. Standard wheels have been painted and polished, and thats about it.....

Ill post the MG pics later in week....

That looks sweet as, nice work. I'm quite into modding my Astra aswell, but keeping everything as 'OEM' as possible, like yours.

Love the MK1 as well!

I like how the M16 wheels have been polished and diamond cut. Never seen them done like that before.

GTI looks great 8) ,always wanted to put a VVC in my MPI when I had it.MG is nice too, always had a soft spot for them since a mate had one when it was about a year old.

Definite thumbs up on that, it looks very nice, I bet it's rapid as well, I'd 100% have one of those and do the same engine change, was it difficult or a straight swap?

I swapped the inlet on my 1.8 for a VVC one.

You're not after a completely rebuilt, totally unwarped head, or red MGF seats are you? Sorry, just trying to get rid of some stuff.

When you say that the Hy drag ass is "individualised" does that mean that the rear subframe connection has been removed and that each bottle is working as a self-contained unit?

How do you lower the displacers without simply letting some fluid out? Do they have valves for adjusting the gas instead? Like this one:

I'm fascinated by Hydragas, even though it was pants when current, compared to the reliable Hydrolastic, I like how, as with all of BL's finest ideas, people are developing it now into something altogether more successful at working.

Looks like the suspension's collapsed.

Good not just me then....

I like the idea of the 1800 in the Metro.

Nice work, I like it. I've got similar style wheels on my Rover, might consoder getting them diamond cut and polished like yours.

Thanks for the comments, in reference to lowering the suspension see here -

http://www.hydragas.co.uk/tech/lowering.html

Reference the VVC swap, its easier on a later MPI Metro as less bits to change (fuel pump, hoses, flywheel different on SPI) but all in all its a one out one in job.

:D
