It occurred to me today that I didn't have a picture of the Oxford and Leaf together.

There are 59 years between them

So I remedied that ..

Both cost nothing to tax (though the Leaf will be £190 next year).

The Oxford seats 6, the Leaf 5.

Oxford has a 4 speed, the Leaf is single speed.

The Oxford should do 300Miles to a tank, the Leaf 110ish on a charge.

I'm not an EV hater but this doesn't feel like progress.

The fact the Oxford does about 28mpg in both fuel and oil evens the odds a little.

I  don't often have more than one vehicle but I did once own two dark blue G reg Volvos.

Given the Oxford holds about 50L of petrol, and the Leaf's battery is equivalent to 3.5L of Diesel, I'd say it's a bit of an improvement...

Don't think I had any old vs new photos either, so went out and took one.

(At first I thought you meant *this* old vs new!)

I don't have a picture of them together, but my Austin was registered in 1936 and my Saab in 2009, so I make that to be a 73 year gap.

2011, 1997 and 1998.

Meh, not that amazing. However the difference in handling and suspension is noticeable when jumping from either of the 1990s Germans into the decade and a bit newer French hatchback.

At some point maybe next spring or summer I could park a 1955 Land Rover next to them.
