Upholstery is practically new and car is in perfect condition. Recently traveled 400 km at 130 km/h without overheating or experiencing any problems. The engine always catches first

The brakes have recently been straightened, the car had a new paint job in 2011 and it passed the MOT in May this year.

The car comes with all the extra keys, air conditioning and essential mechanics.

Pug 605 2.1 TD with 626km on the clock.
Ad description:

The car was bought new in 1993 for the needs of the family business, but due to circumstances, it was never registered. The company has since closed, and the car's papers were lost, I only have copies, so I have no way to register it or transfer it to a buyer. It has driven 626 km and everything on it is original. It has been kept in a warm garage all the time. There are a few minor scratches, the headliner has fallen, and the glass of one fog light is broken. NO MESSAGES. I have mentioned everything important, please only serious buyers call!

Looking at where it's parked, I doubt that there's much car left attached to the rot on that one. The interior looks absolutely shot as well. :(

Looks like a good starting point for a project though.

As long as the documents match the vin and engine numbers anyway....

They probably do. Engine numbers are checked* as part of the yearly technical inspection. Swapping the engine like-for-like is a faff here. Doing an engine swap to something that was never in the car is impossible legally.

That’s ace, I used to love going on holiday to France and seeing stuff like that as a kid. Rest of the interior looks a lot less appealing than the outside though.

I'd love a k-way, as one of the 1000 special editions of AX we didn't actually get here.

Engine and chassis numbers being legible are the biggest item on the Bulgarian Techno Test for imports.

I've seen Transits and Discoverys getting rejected because of a rusty chassis number, even though there others on the vehicle that are fine.

If car is (still) Serbian-plated, there’s a legal way to get new VIN or engine number. You get car to a technical inspection, they note that VIN/engine number is rusted through, and send you away for a police examination. If they’re really rusted out and not rusted out* they confirm this, issue you a confirmation and new numbers starting with PUS (by police directive) prefix. From there, you take the car to one of the few workshops certified for entering those numbers, and you get new registration certificate issued with the new numbers on it.
Surprisingly for Serbian bureaucracy, this process is not stupidly complicated, expensive or lengthy, and unless you’re trying to do something sketchy, you should be on your merry way in a few days total. My 156 has PUS engine number done by one of the previous owners as the original one has rusted out.

Why does anyone give a shit what engine is inside, other than emissions/insurance/tax reasons and especially if the numbers match in case of like for like replacement is beyond me though.

I believe we got a very similar special called the Splash. Definitely had the same seats.

An elderly couple in my neighbourhood had one and at the time it was the only prefacelift AX I'd ever seen. Only ever saw it move once. But then one day, in about 2009, it was gone and a KA Mk2 was in its place. The scrappage scheme had got another.

Never forgave whoever the hell the owner was for that...
