Absolute chodfest of a garage in High Peak, Derbyshire.

Leek, Staffs - 260C I think, and what looks like a Skyline next to it.

And me in my old 206 caught by the camera way back in 2009 - what you can't see there is the dent in the bonnet where I'd clipped the back of a van a couple of weeks earlier!  Note also the Proton on the left, now long gone.

Conversation in the office this morning about A-framing and reminiscences about the time I dragged an old Fiesta back to Leicester from somewhere near Mansfield.  It was pre-Google Streetview but a quick virtual trip down memory lane reveals a Bedford horsebo11ox casually parked up in the same housing estate:

Unusually the registration mark hasn't been blanked out - perhaps whatever algorithm Google uses for that doesn't work on the Serck font?

<story> My uncle came out of Malta in the 1970s when Mintoff's wranglings made things untenable for the RAF. He brought back a Renault 8 that was mint. Two years of Scottish road salt and living by the seaside in Ayr killed that car very quickly  .

I spotted these in real life when looking at a car for sale about 10 yrs ago, took me a while to remember where they were, I just remembered they were by a church and I drove through Wooten wawen on my way there! Wonder if they are still there?

Holy shit, I've hit the jackpot. 

Two Lancia Dedras! This is not the same car twice, this is looking in both directions from the same spot, that spot being near Ruse station on the Bulgarian/Romanian border.

 

And in between the two Dedras, two dodgy blokes messing around with an old Passat.

 

And all three together.

Shame it was 12 years ago, I doubt they've lasted this long.

Piece on London area Beeb news earlier, blokey running the Tube network or some such caper. Conspicuous in the background is a Honda Acty, a glimpse of the side road name plate takes me straight to the location. It probably hasn’t left the premises for at least two decades.

Oh dear, there is going to be a lot....

For some years now, if I have any reason to look at an area, I often  tend to find myself sometimes losing myself in Google Maps. Along the way I'll spot chod and screenshot it. But other times, they'll always be people who'll put up shots or videos of chod but be as vague as possible about the location, and rightly so. However, this then awakens my detective senses and I have to look for it, so long as I have at least a few small clues, I can try and put the rest together....

A few doors away from a shiter I was dropping a car to. I needed to have an idea of where I was heading, Google Maps last passed this road in 2008.

Right, so the 2 above are actually the same house. This house has always had 2 garages and a Vauxhall Velox outside. I didn't realise, until recently, that the lady who owns it, simply replaced with another rotting heap (the pink one) when the other one (the white/blue one) presumably turned into a pile of rust. So it really is a garden ornament. 

The 2 infamous Ealing Rover 200s. From around when they were first seen by the Google car and then the last time the Google car passed.

Same driveway above in 3 different years.

Spotted on the IoW. The Gold Mazda 323 lives on with a young chap, I spotted it on Facebaulk last year.

A few doors down is a 70s Land Rover that has sat there forever and a day too.

These are both from my road I live on now, the Maestro rotted away and disappeared when the house was sold, the XR2 has been there easily 10 years with no wheels on and is still there now, I walk past it every day with the dog.
