purplebargeken Posted August 7, 2023 Author Posted August 7, 2023 La grande Citroen go up. La grande Citroen go down. Repeat frequently with huge grin on face. Have been cleaning the interior this evening. It's just something I do and always have done. It gets me used to the car. I adjust stuff and tune radio frequencies and more useless shite. It's come up really nicely. Seats are really comfy and squishy. Bloody oodles of room and a huge boot. All good stuff. The headlights, being made of the usual plastic are pretty tarnished. They will be done tomorrow. Headlining is ace but the cloth fabric on the door cards has done a JagRover and come adrift. I may have a hard think about that, or I may not. Seemly the wheels require balancing. A job for Weds. Piccies tomorrow. Honest. Verdict... it's fab. Can't wait to drive it. 9/10 for sure. Coprolalia, Stinkwheel, Macscrooge and 6 others 9

purplebargeken Posted August 13, 2023 Author Posted August 13, 2023 Well, the required journey of 300 plus miles has been done. The C5 did exactly what was required. Felt comfy, went well for a 1.8 in a large bodied car. Couldn't get the wheels balanced prior to the journey and there was a little bit of vibration at motorway speeds but not much. I had the headlights sanded, polished and treated before going as they were hugely clouded. They look great now and are illuminating the road ahead perfectly. The local Citroen bloke had a look, pronounced it a good one. He will give it a once over for me on Friday. The car has a massive load space and was further enhanced by putting the rear seats down. The suspension was lovely, steering light but positive, nice smooth gear change and the brakes were perfect. Stereo was good. One speaker was a bit hissy but not hugely. Might replace the wiper blades, just because. The alloys aren't kerbed but look a bit untidy, so may clean them up. Centre caps need replacing. One number plate light is missing its cover. Oh, the rear N/S window won't move, it tries but won't budge. The paint could do with an extensive mop and polish. The above are not criticisms whatsoever, but just stuff I have noticed that I would to attend to, just to make a nice car even better 😊 Once again, thanks to Sam for being an absolute diamond. purplebargeken Posted August 13, 2023 Author Posted August 13, 2023 Centre caps now ordered via good old Amazon.
purplebargeken Posted August 18, 2023 Author Posted August 18, 2023 Centre caps have arrived, however the CCinq has gone to stay with Citroen Dave, retired Citroen specialist and confirmed Xantia licker, just for a once over. Back with me on Monday. When the Xantia lands and has been used for a bit to ascertain the level of mechanical trust, I will probably look to move the CCinq on to a new home. PM me if you want to be coloured interested. Photos upon its return. Honest. Keymaster 1
purplebargeken Posted August 18, 2023 Author Posted August 18, 2023 CCinq back from being serviced. Verdict.... it's a good one. Quintus 1
purplebargeken Posted August 18, 2023 Author Posted August 18, 2023 Seems smoother since the fuel filter has been replaced. stuboy 1
