To be fair everything suggested there has found its way into modern cars (although we have more gears in our push button automatics), they just don't look as cool!

Apart from the gas turbine (mind that 350°f exhaust!) lots of this guess is indeed as now. Graphic dashboard, self drive, aircon, car fridge, elevated motorway, car phone, lap belts, satnav, panoramic roof etc.

Having seen these new - I can say the styling was jawdropping at the time. Pity they were not made better.

I heard the turbines needed far more precision engineering that a conventional IC engine which made them uneconomical for mass production.

Sure, Rovers over engineered, still precise, but maybe less so
