Saturday Collection Thread - Collection happened, on the way back home in comfort and style

I've just viewed a house with my partner we are genuinely interested in and will need a very healthy deposit for. What better thing to do other than taking an early train to Birmingham (of all places) tomorrow to buy another car!

This has actually been in the making for a little while. After spotting the car on FB marketplace a few weeks ago it finally made it's way to Ebay more recently, with little interest shown there. No surprise considering nobody in the UK will have ever heard of one before. I was able to agree on a very reasonable price with the buyer. With this only being 1 of 3 known examples in the country, and also having the lowest mileage of any car I have ever owned, how could I say no...

Insurance is sorted, sale contracts printed soon, more tomorrow. For those interested, here's one hint: I never owned a car from this manufacturer before and it was advertised with these included...

Still too early on a wet Saturday with a todo list as long as the proverbial but ....
Something tastelessly 'done up' and its German?

I'm out of bed and still got an hour before the train!

Hoping it'll hold together so people will at least know where I've gotten mugged arriving at the meeting place.

Good luck, and I hope it all goes well.   My guess is it`s a Ford V8 Pilot.

Surprisingly I haven't owned a Ford yet but not a Pilot either!

First mode of transport:

STOP BUYING SALOONS YOU PSYCHOPATH

It's too late, I'm already on the train.

Poo count still 0, shouldn't change either (hopefully).

2nd leg completed, I now have the luxury of a window seat.

Now in Leeds. They have some strange factories here.

Arrived in Sheffield. Not much to report other than that I have bought a bus ticket for 2 quid which will hopefully get me from Birmingham New Street to the garage the car is located at. Poo count still zero, another hour to go.

Should arrive in Birmingham soon.

Time to drop another hint: it was built in Japan yet is very rare there, and utterly obscure here! As correctly identified it's also a saloon.

Suzuki Cappuccino?

Would love to have one, they are all rust buckets at the money I'm willing to pay for a car though.

Just arriving in Birmingham now. Next leg will be by bus. A girl with excellent taste just complimented me on my shoes.

On the last leg now, got to the bus just about in time. No breakfast so time to have a nice Tesco lunch.

Behold! It's a JDM Infiniti Q45! With working AC!!

Obligatory Petrol station shot, let's see if I can make it back to Newcastle on the 3.5h drive! One rear tire is pretty dry rotten... More soon!

Half way back home, the journey so far has been pleasantly uneventful! The 4.5l V8 is buttery smooth and feels every bit like a 33k mile engine. The rear right brake caliper seems to stick somewhat as the wheel is fairly hot, it pulls slightly to the right as well so that'll need sorting eventually. The perished tire seems to hold up as well so let's see what happens on the last 100 miles.

And we made it! The rest of the trip was as smooth as the beginning! A few minor things to sort out here and there but what a buy this was. If you wanna see more of the car (and find out what the hell an Infiniti Q45 is) have a look at the fleet thread here in about an hour!

I left them at the sellers garage, I really didn't feel like paying extra for them. I'll see if I can find a set of appropriate BBS wheels though, maybe there's a set out there that's not over a grand...

I like that a lot, stealth V8. Good luck with caliper freeing.

Thanks. Naturally the previous owner couldn't contain himself and slapped V8 badges all over it, those will go in the bin the moment I get the chance.

OK - another car I never knew existed. Nicely done sir! 33K wafty barge award of the month. It does look very voluptuous, I'm with you on losing the V8 badges and nay-saying to the chromiums, you have a very smoooooth looking motor there.
