1994 Maestro saloon 2 litre turbo diesel, only 64000 miles. It's got a minute crack in the screen, and that's about it. Interior is immaculate, wodges of service history, power steering, sunroof, original wheel trims , and radio cassette etc.No idea what I'm going to do with, but if I keep it, anyone got a towbar for one of these?

Pictures please Sir 8) I have a towbar you "may" be able to adaptI will grab a picture of it if you want ?

Great! Bet its got metal bumpers too. I would love to see a pic.. let the dog see the rabbit and all that ;)

I was hoping someone had put the front end of a Maestro onto a Montego, but that'd be too dreamlike a scenario.

Edit: Doh, no, not a Monstro.... A Maestego obviously.

If you really want a towbar for it, i'll whip the one off mine if you like. Cant imagine postage to the channel isles will be very palatable though!!!!

Almost, but the other way around:

Chinese-built Lubao CA6410, picture shamelessly snaffled from the very wonderful AR Online. 8)

And joy of joys, you could buy one in red too:

Yeah that's what I posted before I realised it was t'other way around. It must be possible though, if the panels just swap over, to make a Maestego.

Hey Colin was this the one on Jersey Insight? I wondered if that grille was from an earlier Maestro then I realised I should get out more. Was it that Joe wassisface from the local radio?I have a particularly nice recent acquisition myself :)

Ahh, I spent ages looking for a good pic of that Monstro the other night, even the cake-scoffing mancunian nitwit former keeper didn't have any good ones...

Took the Maestro out last night for the first time. What a capable old bus it is. Great dollops of torque, nice driving position, good ride, nicely weighted PAS. The interior is like new, it even smells "new". Lsst owner was getting 41 mpg. which is, frankly, a bloody miracle over here. Very impressed.

I'm finding the 'Monstro' quite attractive actually. Congratulations on your Maestro colc, sounds like a good 'un.

I suppose that the fact that the drivetrain [Perkins engine, VW gearbox] being non Austin Rover has a great deal to do with why it drives so well...............

Well, IIRC the Prima was based on the old BL S series petrol engine and was a joint venture between Perkins and BL so theres a fair amount of BL input in the drive train there.

i had a white mg maestro got it for £100 with 6 months T&T it was awesome apart from the terrifying torque steer  LOL

sort of like this 1

In that case, hats off to both parties, as they did a bloody good job. I might pass the old bus onto my Dad, whose old 205 diesler is rapidly returning to component form. If he doesn't want it, I might keep it.
