:evil: i hate f@ckin twats like that :evil: wished you had caught him... those idiots are up there with the twats that ding your car at tescos and p155 off without anyone seeing them

That's awful :(Is it just me, or is it somehow worse that it was an adult? At least with kids you can tell yourself they'll mature, however untrue it might actually be.

Really pissed off for you  Why would a grown man, even a pissed one do that? Don't understand at all. There really are some tossers in society.

gutting dude, no respect for anothers property

it's too dark to tell but it looks they've gone right through the lacquer/clear coat on the front doornot sure about the colour underneathI guess I'll have to get it fixed or the lacquer will liftruined my eveningI just don't understand the point of deliberately trashing a total strangers stuff

Really boils my piss , twat should have his face keyed

gutted for you mate. Go out and put some superglue on it. It hold off the weather whilst you wait to fix it, smear it quickly along the scratch before it runs, and before you stick your finger to the car! It dries clear rapidly, and hold up to the elements well.

Feel for ya. My Sierra was done just over a year ago - I'm STILL annoyed about it.The real shame is it was my pride and joy, but since the keying I can't really be arsed with it - and it is starting to show :(

Done it. That actually seems to make it look less bad.Got a slightly glue finger and nearly glued the bottle to myself, but it does make me feel a bit better. That and watching the topgear episode where they have a go at lorry driving.I assume that excess superglue will t-cut off ?

funnily enough I was thinking that it might be time to learn how to spray properly

i have three cars and all are metallic

my wifes people carrier is in a bit of a state so I'd practise on that

and the 604 needs some welding and I don't want to spray the whole car if I could spray bits of it as I repair them

thinking of asking for one of those HVLP systems that PC tried out

I don't know, I have only used this trick on stuff that had a panel or whole respray. I never effects the paint though. I holds up for ages too, even holds off rust on damage down to bare metal.

It'd be nice if vandalism could be stopped by confronting them with a cap gun, but I have to say I find the whole idea rather dubious.

the superglue came off my fingers just with hot water and a scrubbing brush.I suspect that the same will work on the car when the time comes to fix it

Sad, pathetic jealous wankers, that's all they are. If he couldn't handle his ale he should have stopped drinking the twat.

Some kid riding a bike far too big for him with no brakes crashed into my Calibra once putting 2 small dents in the rear quarter. I knocked on his parents door and they just said 'take us to court' ...Thats how to teach kids respect and the value of stuff. The father also said ' I let my kids climb all over my car' as though it was normal.

On the subject of key scratches, is it even worth trying to sort them with those touch-up pens? If it can be done, what's the best methodology? I have tried before to repair wife-inflicted scratch damage to paintwork, and ok it kept the rust away but looked dreadful

Sometimes you can get away with spraying primer into the cap of the aerosol then using one of those modelling brushes to touch it in followed by ther same method with the top coat. DEFO works better than the touch up pens in my experience and sometimes works better without the primer too.Failing that a marker pens works wonders on small scratches, but best saved to shit you're trying to offload in the auctions.

i've touched up some stuff on cars with solid colours and got it okay, but with metallic it's horribleI managed to t-cut out the scratch on the wing and the rear door, so it's only the front door that's damaged nowand superglue does seem to eventually t-cut offI'm not convinced that the scratch has gotten down to the base coat. I certainly can't see any primer. It might just be that I can get away sanding it with the finest wet paper I can get, then t-cutting, and then maybe a quick coat of just lacquer over the top. i suppose it depends whether the key has scratched the base coat but not actually gone through it, or whether it's just damaged the lacquerapparently these new 2K lacquers can be sanded and t-cutI've got a old front wing off of another Peugeot that's one year older than the car. Hopefully it's similar technology and I can practise on that.

see Family Legal Protectionhttp://churchill.co.uk/home/home_extras.htmhmm, maybe it isn't actual liability insurance. I'll have to check that. I don't know what you're supposed to do a as a parent. Kids on bikes can easily cause 1000s ££ damage to a car, and all kids can be stupid. I remember as a kid sliding down the side of a mini. the pedal made a right mess of the side. Luckily for me the driver had been going round a blind bend a bit too fast at school chucking out time, right outside a school. I think I was lucky to get away with that one.

Not long after getting my 'immaculate and scratch free' panda somebody decided to key it from front to back, and then to make matters worse, a few days later somebody chucked a half brick at the bonnet :(Needless to say i could never be bothered fixing the damage, especially as i knew that where it was parked it would be attacked again, and guess what, i was right. I have since lost countless mirrors and wipers due to the yobs, and my 1981 panda 45 was walked over by two teenage turds who calmly walked down the street while i swore my head off at them (felt good that did  )
