CF2 Information/Engine needed - any enthusiasts?

Hey folks, just had a call off Mrs Hoker's Dad over in Holland. He's booked tickets/Ferry etc etc for his family holiday over here, but his CF2 engine has just bit the big one! He's willing to come over and pick one up, fit it in Holland then still make the ferry - He's entirely that sort of guy (should totally be on here anyway)! So in short, does anyone have any idea where he or I could pick up a petrol CF2 engine in a short period of time? It currently has a 1750 in it, but he'd (obviously) be just as happy with a bigger one.....

I presume we're talking Bedford CF here, I thought they were all 1800, or 2300 cc. I'd have thought ebay maybe your best bet.

A dead Carlton would supply an engine but you may need to change the sump.

I'm probably wrong but someone told me a Frontera engine will fit in a CF.

Top coversion for these is to stick in a 2 litre tranny pinto. A mate did one and it was pretty straight forward and one of he easiest things to work when completed because there is so much room.

The 2.3 dizzler will but needs the sump changing. The early 2.0 8V Frontera Sports had Carlton petrol engines so you're probably on to something there Wazzer.

Nope. The CF was facelifted, and retained the Victor slant four (as with our colourful heap). But the CF2 has newer engines fitted about 1982 I think. As has been said, that's got to be Carlton power.
