As people sporadically post up good stuff on telly with shite content, i thought i'd start a thread for you to lump it all in. i'm nice like that.

 

start of with The Black Windmill (1974) which is on the 'shiters channel of choice, ITV4 at 10.05pm tonight.

Directed by Don 'Dirty Harry' Siegel and starring Michael 'Michael Cain' Cain. Was panned when it was first released but according to the reviews on IMDB is actually a pretty descent low-key thriller. Not seen it myself but no doubt there is some shite content.

I watched this last night, and realised that I have a first edition of the novel it's adapted from, Seven Days to a Killing by Clive Egleton. The book's not very good, but the third line contains the text 'The Hillman Avenger had stopped at the far end of the runway', so maybe it was written with Autoshite in mind.

Does it have to be stuff broadcast on tv?

Yeh, I meant it as a sort of 'autoshite radio times' when you spot something good in the listings post it up here so other people can catch it. Mainly because I virtually never watch tv or look at whats on.Good choices of films though, I quite like Performance, but then I like most Nic Roeg films.'The Black Windmill' wasn't that great, Cain had a nice suit on in the second half and there was some top-drawer tat though.

My DVDs of the Chinese Detective contain loads of 24 carat gold background shite. There is one episode about two mad old bubblecar collectors trying to kill each other. It has a GR8 car chase with a bond bug in pursuit of a Messerschmitt. It's beyond describing. Opening credits complete with POS Minor

shoestring is a good place to find shite, apart from the mk3 tina (eddie doesnt buy it until halfway through the first series) theres Hillman hunters & avengers, Zodiac mk4, minis, imps, escorts, jensen, transits and the odd renault etccrap storyline - but then 70's TV always was a bit hit-and-miss
