RHJ997R Granada GXL or Ghia used in late series 3 and some of series 4 no DVLA record, could be a false plate.

Silver Mk1 Granada NWC301P last taxed 1983, assume dead.

NWC300P, Carter’s white Cortina no DVLA records. Doubt it’s a false plate as sister car to the silver Granada in life and in the series.

Can’t ID the Mk2 used in the series 4 ‘Kaleidoscope’ titles

RHJ997R Is currently on a Retention certificate. It was on a Black Cab a few years ago and was on a now closed sweeney forum with a poster in the back giving a note of its history.

Cowley's Granada was VHK456S, I think one of the Capri's used in The Professionals was also registered in this series, but carried false plates on screen!

VHK456S was the beige one used in a few episodes of the first series after Mark1 ditch BL. I believe the plates for that were genuine. His red Granada bore false plates, if you look close enough one was a 2.8 Ghia and the later was a 2.8i Ghia.

I’m delving deeper into the cars used in The Professionals which has been ongoing for a few weeks whenever I get a spare five minutes.

2 cars, VHK495S and COO251T were plated as UOO303T, I don’t remember seeing one with 300 but I’ll keep a lookout! Both survive

There's a bit of confusion over the Sweeney series 4 Granada.

There has been a silver Mk2 Granada 2.8i S seen wearing the reg number VHK 491S for a while now, but it's a replica on false plates. It was originally a Regency green Ford press car and it's real reg is VHK 481S. The giveaway is that the replica has satin black b-pillars, they were silver on the real car. The real car used in The Sweeney was exported to Germany in 1978, but there have been rumours about it getting brought back over here and being restored. 

The silver Granada in the Series 4 titles is the VHK 491S one, but given the fake reg number TGF 142T

Really out of date. I have sent they webmaster an e-mail regarding the current tax & MoT status of the vehicles but he didn’t reply.

He did credit me some 20 years ago about the Dolomite Sprint info though!

I've been watching Silent Witness from the beginning and checking out various reg numbers on DVLA,  a lot of the main vehicles are either on false plates or have been declared scrapped as they don't come up, but a lot of background cars are on there. Nice pair of 80s Mercs with private plates last night, one is now on a modern but the other still existed on SORN. Weirdest one is that one "character car" reg did exist, but was for a different vehicle of the same age
