The Durango, for those who are tempted, is Fairmont/Zephyr Fox platform, which is the same as Mustang. So, any performance parts for a Mustang would.... you get the idea! This would be a BREEZE to turn into a ripping monster with real brakes, handling and propulsion.

I reckon what I'd do is base it around a 4-cyl Fairmont with a 3-speed auto, see if I could get all the California emissions kit too.

Can't ever recall a Sherpa/Freight Rover 4x4, would love to see this but area code suggests Market Drayton and I CAN'T BE ARSED going that far to look at it.

I'm sure I've seen a 4x4 Sherpa/LDV/Freight Rover/whatever, that was a crewcab being used by a leccy company or something. They usually had 4x4 Transits though.

 

£1800 though? A clear sign of drug abuse. Were '83 models even Freight Rover badged? I thought that was later.

I think it was from about 1981/2 onwards (from 'X' reg) that they were badged as Freight Rover. £1800 is a bit (lot) steep but it's an interesting sounding old thing.

The number plate off this car belongs in the 'bargains' thread really. I wonder how long it'll take before he realises paying £105 (or whatever it is now) to have a number plate worth £6.57 put onto a retention certificate was almost as utterly fucking stupid as putting 'Fairy Dust' stickers on an Allegro. Stupid txt typn twat.
