Maybe that Mini is australian? I dont know if they built mini estates down there. That would give someone an opprotunity to get a load of nonsense onto the V5.

Ford V6, really well done and all that, but do I LIKE it? No, don't think I do. £13k as well.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT

I kind of do actually like that peculiar hot-rod thingy, what an amusing device to cruise the outside lane of the motorway in. Essex V6 is a bit of a boat-anchor though.

Posted

I really like the Renown, but I agree with Roadwork, it needs a proper engine like a Rover V8

Well the finances have been consulted and as long as the reserve isn't too silly or bidding gets out of hand, I'm going to have a punt on the Compagno although I haven't quite decided how much is my maximum :? . If I do get it, the Mazda 323 will have to go but it'll be worth it. I shall keep an eye on it next week...

They did build the station wagons at Zetland too, but that's been based on the Leyland Mini Panel Van.

As mentioned on previous page, the panel vans retained the external hinges to the end.

Notice that a pair of Landcrab-era Lucas wing indicators have been placed where the original rear door top hinges would be. That one-piece (bespoke?) tailgate is hinged from the top

All Aussie Mini ran with the Clubman front panels from 1971-on.

No idea about those rear windows!

Wow thats interesting, a mini clubman van!!! I would love one of those. I reckon thats what this thing must be made out of.

Posted

I hadn't realised the Aussie Minis had different door handles. The reason I knew about the hinge/window combination is because I remember noticing it on Willie, Kylie's fixer-upper Mini in Neighbours.

Posted

Lol willie or won't he how the hell can you remember the finer details of kylies mini. Richard I'm impressed.

Posted

Ah I had forgotten that! Now she is doing Lexus adverts. How times have changed.

She is still hot though.

Still on about this three pages later...

$(KGrHqJ,!lYE1FwLJksEBNZ8qWVi,Q~~_12.JPG

I do like that, except perhaps the Crapi rear lights. And the Rover seats. I found my '73 Clubman seats the comfiest of EVAR.

Don't you think the front end treatment looks like the Mazda 1000 pick-up (background)?

Also, Thailand might be a source of Compagno parts. I have spotted about half a dozen in Chiang Mai, in two, three and four door flavours. Remember this?

Fook I need to update that thread!

Parky says GO! Mrs Parky says NO!

She doesnt like this, but its lovely! Could be a tidy runabout and deserves to be saved from some remtard sanding off the bonnet, getting some coilovers, roof rack, and iron cross stickers and generally fucking it right up.

I could really go for an 800 koop.

Dolgellau? Might as well be on the fricking moon.

Hey, my Grandparents are buried there, you could pop by and change the flowers for me!

Its a nice run out, actually. Theres a hill on the way there near a place called Dinas Mawddwyllllchllyydally on which my Allegro can approach the speed of light (going downhill obv). Its GR99.

That looks VERY similar to one that finished last week up here somewhere, just out of T+T. It's not showing up in his feedback tho.

Edit: Found it!

Krujoe,

SWMBO has put the kibosh on any plans to buy this one so feel free to have a pop at it. Good luck if you go for it, be good to see it end up with a sympathetic Shiteist rather than some Twat Look afficionado......Let us know how you get on!!

Posted

Thanks, though not for me. For my sis. And only if it stays SRSLY cheap.

She'd appreciate an older VW, it'll be better than others she's had. And there is a good chance her kids could be persuaded it's cool enough to be seen in.

Top work Bol'n'Pog. Streets for the win.

That H-Reg Mini is THE SPIT of my first car. I used to drive myself and three siblings to school in it!

Re: the red Golf:

It finishes at lunchtime. Would that be the 4+E gearbox or..? Is that good or bad?

Also, would there be a sympathetic way to fit rear head rests? (For the growing kids to feel safer.)

4+E is just VAG speak for an overdrive fifth gear.
