This could make an interesting track day car.

That's owned vy a lad over on retro rides, it's rusty but not too far gone, and the work he's done on it so far looks very tidy. Seems a shame that he's selling it on ebay rather than on RR, hope he gets a good price for it though

I did wonder that actually, especially with it being a 2-litre, but as the bloke appears to be a trader I assumed he knew what he was on about. Looking at the pics again it does look rather 626-ish - not seen many 626 estates this shape either though

By some distance the least wanky example of this genre I have yet to behold. €201 so far, but looking at the work done he'll be expecting exactly 13.9 times that.

Indeed so. I haven't seen a Commander for at least a thousand years. I always liked them when they were a common sight. I think it was those Astra SR wheels that did it.

~anorak mode~

They (mostly) disappeared off the radar pretty quickly due to electrical and rust problems that would shame Iveco. The story goes that all these (Commander) models were stored in a wet field for a while before being sold and thus suffered weird/annoying electrical faults such as the switches and dials only working when they felt like it and appalling rust issues.

I was told that too, whilst working for a Vauxhall dealer in the early '90's. They certainly seemed rustier than all the other Mk2's. Nice interior and wheels though, much better than the Antibes and Club I thought. I think they were to use up the old stuff before the facelift white indicatored models came out.

MMmmmmm, i would seriously fancy another one of these, of this age, in white, being sold by a woman.......AAAAAAHHHHH

Well if you don't want it Boll, i'd like to gain its trust, lure it to a secluded area and rape it of its N/S doors, tailgate and any other parts i'd find useful. I'd then leave it for dead in a scrap steel processing yard.

TBH it looks a bit better than my example but meh....

pick them up for £7) and currently has a ford mondeo

carburettor fitted! The carb doesn't cause any problems

Aside from the door being a different colour. Bidding going up already and it doesn't even have an MOT
