The story goes that all these (Commander) models were stored in a wet field for a while before being sold and thus suffered weird/annoying electrical faults such as the switches and dials only working when they felt like it and appalling rust issues.

I was told that too, whilst working for a Vauxhall dealer in the early '90's. They certainly seemed rustier than all the other Mk2's. Nice interior and wheels though, much better than the Antibes and Club I thought. I think they were to use up the old stuff before the facelift white indicatored models came out.

Bonnet does seem to jut out somewhat at the front, though I doubt it was ever mm perfect to begin with. Also, best photos of the evar etc etc
