Yes its my mate George in Dunfermline that has it. He's spent an absolute packet on the thing.. i'm amazed he wants to punt it on.

Seems like a bargain given all the work he's done to it. I'm surprised he's selling it too it's got to be at least 4 years since I sold it to him .

Ford Escort 1600 pinto RARE styleing

Oh Aye, i've never heard of an Escort with a pinto engine before.

The engine is running on a 2ltr twin webber carb recently fully serviced including all gaskets etc and 2ltre pinto inlet manifold made possible by a custom made adaptation plate with a big red performance air filter sat on top of it!

Wow, a carburettor off a Capri, I bet thats a vast improvement over the factory electronic engine management. Could it be that you just are totally fucking clueless?

brakes are all relatively new and all painted freshly in red

I see

Item location: Hungerford, Berkshire, United Kingdom

Why did you miss this one, Michael?

Oh, WHY did you post that here? A 2-door Nova saloon is the one car guaranteed to reduce me to a tear-stained gibbering twat; the mere fact that someone else will end up buying that one (and probably OMGRATLUK-ing it) has utterly ruined my entire week. What a gorgeous, delectable piece of automata.

How did this get an MOT with that knackered headlight reflector?

That 125p is well dodgy. The third picture probably belongs to an altogether different car.

I don't know as seller says 'original wheels and steering wheel to go back on' so could well be the same motor.

I do realise that Allegro's may not have the worlds greatest following but for some they will give fond memories of the seventies and eighties when cars seem to be more individual unlike today's euro boxes but for little money you can have a piece of time warp history it does seem not only like a good investment but good fun to enter the classic car fraternity in a car that can easily be driven every day and get some amazing looks and quotes as you drive down the street.

Third time on.

Current bid: £1,000

That Allegro is bloody perfect. If some Mini owner engine-rapes that he should have his house burnt down.

I had the misfortune to see the tv show that car was in once. Basically, two blokes would drive around the country to nightclubs and pay slags to flash on camera. Class.

I hope you didnt put those wheels on, if you did you need to have a word with yourself.

It has a Nissan 280ZX turbo engine and transmission circa 1982, plus disc brakes all round. It comes with an ECCS analiser for the turbo charged engine, which plugs into the wiring loom under the dash and checks all sorts of features controlled by the ecu.

WHAT!!!!

I bought this car in the US

That explains a lot, let you off then. Horrible!

I saw this very car for sale at a classic show a couple of years ago. I remember the reg. It was owned by an oldish couple who were sat next to it on two matching garden chairs. They wanted £995 and it was absolutely mint. I think it had done 19000 miles. I was sorely tempted at the time. Surely no way thats worth £3500 is it?
