RedSparrow Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Lovely car mate! Those Maxima badges were in Renault badging style for some reason. Coincidence? Probably.

Alexg Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Judas Priesthttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1984-AUSTIN-A ... 20c1bc37c4 This has been for sale for yonks, infact I thought it had sold. It was originally offered on CarandClassic for £2500. After an unsuccessful stint on eBay with a £1200 start I messaged the owner and bid him the start price. He declined. Later last year it appeared to have sold for about 900ish but soon was listed for sale again. I was ready to bid the seller once more but all ads disappeared, I'd assumed, until yesterday, that it was sold. It's in my watch list again but alas no room at the inn, or any money, or the desire to travel that far again for BL chod. Still, I haven't cracked open the wine yet...
cort16 Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 3 grand for this Silver Spirit. It has a misfire so ripe for a miserable n/a diesel transplant so you can plod to work in it at 27mph.http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C269260 Check out the spectacular levels of brown available with this Saab 99. There's something odd about those wheels though.Nice uploading skillz m8http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C278498
Spottedlaurel Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 It's badged as a Maxima but i haven't yet worked out what that means. Run-out model to clear the decks before the next-gen Sunny was launched, basically bolt-on stuff added by the importers. Looks good. Watch out for the head gasket (I think they can even crack their head), and they are prone to rot on the rear inner arches (open the boot, it'll be obvious). I've had a couple on the road, must get another one day.
retrogeezer Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 yeh, I had an uber low mileage Sunny a few years back and it popped the headgasket twice within the space of a few months. The inner rear arches were also rusty! I think it had done 22,000 miles when I got it back in 1996 (mine was a Y plate and still had the chrome door mirrors) Nice to drive though and ran like a swiss watch. *edit* here is a pic of it!

Cavcraft Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 From the seller of the Mk2 estate: 'I have a full Calibre that still has all its parts' They're rare than a rare thing now, wonder why he doesn't sell it complete? Might mail him just to see if it's my old one.

One of the tyres is slightly flatter than the others, there's a rust spot on the bonnet, the headlining is hanging down and the the n/s/f spotlight is at a slightly jaunty angle. However it's got cloth seats which are worth £11,000 and if I scrapped it it's worth £275,000. I only want £500/£650/£575 with/out tax for it.
