This fella is quite obviously LIVING THE DREAM.

'In daily use until February of this year when I changed over to a more “modern” Triumph Acclaim to lap up the miles to and from work'

This Golf looks lovely, seller is an 'H. Sceptre', Is it the management?

I'd promise to buy that if the seller guaranteed never to show a picture of that hefty bint with the truncheon ever again.

I dunno, I think she's offset by the short blonde with the handcuffs...

Are these really going that cheap now?

I was about to get excited by the price, but that sort of price can't be called cheap in my book- unless you're talking about an one-off Tagora landaulette that had been specially ordered by Erich Honecker.

Is it available with a garish mural of some shit football film and the signature from a guy from ICF?

This is my old Escort, I paid £500 for it back in May sold it on for £800 last month, It's back on ebay again but I'm not 100% sure it's the same guy i sold it too as he told me he's been offered some silly money for it and he lived in a semi.

It's just got to £1500 reserve not met!, When i had it on ebay it only got to £670, How the funk did it get to £1500?, It's not worth that at all, the sellers making it sound nicer then it is as well.

Well ain't that just typical. You wait years for an affordable SVX, then two come along within a couple of weeks... Can't remember the last time I saw one of these that didn't have SVX in the number plate.

I have to tell you fookers something. Nobody in the USA except maybe .000001% of the population remembers or gives a crap about the Duke boys, S&TB, Convoy, Duel, Vanishing Point, Bullitt, A-Team, or any of the other made-in-Kauliflowerni-Uhhhh car hollyweirdness. God, Knightrider.....! What shit! I had forgotten about all this pissrot for the last 25 years until scurrying about on Brit car forums realized that everything you folks think you know about American cars is from television! And you still think this crap is a barometer of the culture. Most people don't even know who Burt Reynolds is any more, much less George Peppard or Mr. T! And most never gave a damn to begin with!

The nostalgia over here is more from the fact that in our youth (mine anyway), we had three TV channels, mostly showing dull, stiff upper lipped 'UK programmes', generally on repeat. Anything fresh from the states was exciting to say the least, and a lot of the shows were aimed towards kids, The A Team, Knightrider, Dukes of Hazard, The Fall Guy etc.

To young Volksy (aged 11 and 3/4) they were the shizz!

If you do glance through ebay.co.uk plenty of stateside folks do make a buck or two selling replicas to us, there is generally one or two Starsky Torinos on.

From personal experience, the only old shows people remember in the US are AfterMASH, Fat Albert and Supertrain. The strangest thing is that they don't even seem to know that AfterMASH was a spin-off of MASH, they've never heard of the latter.
