Not too sure about myself, but I'm confident Cavette would go with the Nova.

A great example of an Autoshite car - rubbished at the time because it was "only based on a Cavalier" and this one has the 8 valve engine rather than the more powerful 16V.

Here's the news some 18 years later - basing a car on the Cav is probably a good thing, and Vauxhall's 16V engines weren't a patch on the 8 valvers. The colour is ugly, but you don't have to look at it when you're inside

If I had the time and money, I'd be all over this like a cheap suit. The later ones look even better, but they're all a GRP monocoque construction - nothing to rust!! All except the Mini subframes which of course would rust out in the desert.

I thought old Land Rovers looked best when they're a bit battered. As ever, you can take these things too far

The advert is a bit light on details, but what's not to love about a Panda 4x4? This is a Sisley which comes with inclinometer :D

You should really buy the best example of a car, this looks like a gem of a pocket rocket

It's a shame Vauxhall never fitted the 130 bhp C20SEH 8-valver into a Calibra, that would have been a peach.

That being said, all 4-cylinder Calibras were fitted with close-ratio gearboxes (f18cr, f20, f28) so even the 115 bhp C20NE-engined ones were brisker than a Cav with the same engine.

The 16V engines weren't at all bad though. Yes, they had their faults (C20XE porous heads, X20XEV head gaskets and loads of sensors) but they were generally tough & pretty powerful for their displacement.

I'd love this, but even with 12mpg and 10 reels of MIG wire required, it'll probably still break £1500

This is like looking through my photos - I had an 8v Calibra upgraded from a shit Astra as a company car when I had a good year, and whilst it was ok, I never really could get that fond of it. I preferred the 2 litre Cavs I'd previously had.

The CRX is lovely. I had a 10 year love affair with a Rex which I still regret selling on. That's on my watch list ...

Don't worry FREDDIE, i just meant that she would probably cost as much to run as a 5.3 XJS

!CE4Y32gBmk~$(KGrHqZ,!jIE1NWgbg!gBNT(eGT06w~~0_35.GIF These are only £1 a pair. Seems like a bargain.

......Then along came boobydoo with Autoshite (style) branded stockings, gr8 for blaggin.

/\ /\ That Calibra looks very smart for £650, the colour is w*nk though.

Direct links to adverts work, but if I try to browse the listings in any category I just get pages of this: EBAY

Unless you have Javascript disabled or something, in which case it'll probably be that. Or something else.

/helpful

I have JS disabled - I have to enable it to look more than the default picture, but searching isn't an issue. Shouldn't be that.

It's just odd.

Agreed.

The URL you're looking at does the same thing for me, but I can't get that URL without typing it in by hand. Try holding CTRL and pressing F5 on any C&C page, I wonder if it's using a really ancient CSS.

You could use THIS ONE

Sorry, I don't currently have any stocking related input. I promise I will post some if I have any..

His homebuilt car. Took him something like 7 years to complete it. Based on an Auto-Union chassis with an NSU Rotary engine from a Ro80. It's called the SVJ 1000GT.

Eugh, is it just my eyes or is everything a little off-centre on that heap? It's quite hard to tell, it's like looking at an M. C. Escher drawing or something.

Anyway, the seller reckons:

kids gutted to see it go, loss of playground cred

which I somehow can't believe. I reckon the day they turn up to school in something that actually resembles a car will be the first respite from a brutal campaign of bullying they've ever had.

/\ /\ /\ That Banham, Is everything they do based on a Metro?

Theen it's about time they went bankrupt. Bloody hell, i don't think they have ever designed anything even reasonably attractive.

Selling the Kadett?? Good ad though Trigger - what will you get next?

WOW, a Swift saloon!

WOW, a Swift saloon with 4 WHEEL DRIVE!

LOVE THIS!

Whilst that's all kinds of awesome (and the best colour), it's a bit salty isn't it?

Clearly not salty enough. Not only was it sold within a day, it has already been re-listed by the winner for an extra £500 more!

I have to confess to having a soft spot for Banhams (no, not Romney Marsh). I quite like that Bat, though if it were mine I'd definitely tone down the embellishments

Trigger: long-winded? NO! For me, that's exactly how a car should be listed on the bay. Informative, accessible, and with excellent photos. I hope it works and you find her a good home. And then some looney project as a replacement....
