We are in the presence of fame! This appears to be the car so recently claimed by Danny Hopkins in Practical Classics. So, PC going over to Renault now?

TV trivia: when Alan Bradley chased Rita Fairclough to Blackpool to kill her (Corrie Street, btw) he was driving a Renault 18. Which is what Danny says he's replacing this with.

Is that Raymanboy's LeBaron...? :shock::mrgreen:

When did he own one? Was it registered G427 FKC? If so, then it's the same car.

Not merely great: positively ideal! These were used as Melbourne police cars in a late 70s Oz cop show called Bluey. Detective Sergeant Bluey Hills, played by the Frank Cannon-esque Lucky Grills, was supposedly so much a maverick that his superiors gave him his own little squad to shut him up and keep him out of the way. He drove around in a metallic red Chrysler with slotmags, while the uniform cars were the same model in white.

That's all from memory! If you google any of the above you'll probably come up with a load more info. Bluey (the show, and the character) was something of a cult around 1980; especially in the Liverpool area, for some reason. Perhaps we were in mourning for Z-Cars....

Squaddie alert! That's the only proper explanation I can deduce for an eastern-central Scotland registered car to turn up in Andover. The "special edition" is due to the commonwealth games taking place in Embro in 1986, the rust means that it spent more than its first few years there.

Oh my! That Cortina the most stunning thing I've seen, I think that could now be my new dream car.

I would sell my soul to the mother in law to buy it if i had to.

It was a Billy Butler thing in Liverpool IIRC.

That Cortina is absolutely spot-on. It just looks rock-hard and right.

The more i think about it the more i think I'd shag my mother in law for that Cortina.

What a strange man....

I put a battery on the old gal, turned her over which wound dirty petrol into her, plus I washed out the engine compartment so water has got round the plugs, I recon a service is a must,
The mileage actually reads on the clock 084,300, so there is a good chance this could be genuine as there is a zero before the 8, but cannot guarantee, i am only trying to be fair.

I would anyway and I haven't even seen her.

+ a million on that Cortina, it's absolutely fantastic.

You can take what you need or the whole Car

it needs to go to a good home

Presumably the same good home that would rob it of a few parts and weigh the rest in?

That MK3 Cortina is gorgeous, but those stripes do remind me of the one in the film 'Party Party'
