It's probably hard for younger readers of this forum to imagine a time when Austin Allegros would be used openly on the road, without shame and with no regard for decency; this picture must date from the early 80's and like paedophile music teachers, it was just accepted back then as a necessary evil.  Grim times.

Isn’t that a Gold High and dry Pony in front of the blue Datsun? Quite a grim line up by the standards of the time but far preferable than the modern dross that litter the streets now.
