I actually go to Old Ford every Thursday as my Guvnor is involved in the Gentrification of Old Ford Lock, building fancy apartment blocks . The best things are the Pie and Mash shop down Roman Rd and Dino’s Cafe at New Spitalfields Market. When it’s all lentil weavers in their £1,000,000 rabbit hutches no doubt this will disappear. But then I won’t be going there anymore.

I wonder if that's where Peter Rogers got the idea for Glamcabs?

When cars were basic simple transport.

He didn't give a crap about 0-60 or in car media systems etc, as long as it worked he'd be happy..

Simpler times.

The commentary from this pic - as posted on 'old British car club' on Facebook

My dad ordered a Ford Prefect in 1949 from Dees of Croydon... any colour! They said it would be a few months, in fact it was 36 months later that he got a phone call...'A customer's order for an Anglia has been cancelled (probably died while waiting) was he interested. He loved this car and regularly washed and cleaned it. I took this picture in 1954 on a Sunday morning after we had fitted reflectors when they became compulsory.  Not many folks in our road had cars then... today there's absolutely no parking space 24/7
