No need to say who they are as it already says so but they were the top ladies team in the 1970 Daily Mirror World Cup Rally. They came tenth overall on the longest, toughest rally ever staged. In a Maxi.

Here are Rosemary and Alice again in a slightly more glamorous pose (though on the other hand how much more glamorous can you get than those Leyland rally jackets.

Though the caption says Ginette is again missing. The cars were registered XJB 302 - 308H.

It was very much a rally of strength over speed. Only 23 of the 103 cars finished. Five of the top ten were mk1 Escorts. The rest of the top ten were two Triumph 2.5PI's  Citroen DS, a Landcrab and the girls Maxi. The rest of the finishers included more Escorts, Landcrabs and Citroens and even a couple of Moskvitch 412's. The above pictures were pinched from Graham Robson's excellent book on the subject, though I did buy it first, so not entirely pinched.
