Ratdat Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Good stuff, that S12 looks absolutely mint! Makes me deeply regret selling the very nice red one I owned. Quote This isn't a ZX by the way...no front or rear spoiler and no front fogs gives the game away. It'll be an SGX I would think, but being Polish it would be a completely different spec to anything we got.
Spottedlaurel Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 This’d make a neat replacement for the Camry! Great selection as ever DC. Another benefit of classics not at shows is they’re not surrounded by deckchairs, parasols, boards with plaques etc.

andrew e Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Should I lay off the Toilet duck, or does this look like a Jag XKSS? Damm that pine fresh flavour...
reallyloud Posted May 20, 2008 Author Posted May 20, 2008 I quite like that toilet duck MG - and I generally hate the things. There's a Rover V8 in there, not surprisingly. I forgot to post this.... Its a 1300S, arches are fine, sills might need attention, interior is slightly worn and the old bike in the back needs tyres, wheels, gears and some lube. I don't know anyone with one of these, but its got to be worth something in parts to someone at least. Its in my old haunting grounds in Wantage, Oxfordshite.
reallyloud Posted June 3, 2008 Author Posted June 3, 2008 A few spots of interest: Saw this driving on the opposite carriageway of the A1 near Scotch Corner as I made my way to the Bubble car meet. Disappointingly driven by some old folk and not some delicious nymphette. Very clean, and the earliest Panda I've seen in some time. I'm not keen on taking shots while actually on the move - not something to be encouraged kids. Closer to Doncaster the A1 starts to fowl up with traffic so, I cut across Doncaster, and am rewarded by this: The cars at the bubble car museum has been well documented but I can't resist banging up Joncedrics lovely horse. Pony. Mr bo11ox turned up in his straight 33 on sunday. Delicious. Wuvvum-mobile Mash's original 140J. Had a fine time, despite being beaten by a 6 year old girl on the AFX slotcar racing. Headed south and saw these: And then drove back up north the next day, but stopped off at Gaydon. Certainly worth dropping in for the variety and friendly staff - a little bit pricy at £9.00 but offset that with the unique machinery: Predated the Range Rover by some 10 years. One of 2 made. Built by Michelotti. Built by Pininfarina, has shades of 204 cabriolet in it I reckon. http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/austin_maxi_rally.jpg http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/mini_9x.jpg http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/mini_9x_1.jpg http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/triumph_lynx.jpg http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/triumph_dolomite_concept.jpg http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/land_rover_1.jpg http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/morris_minor_11.jpg http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/rover_t4_1.jpg http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/austin_1300_1.jpg http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/triumph_1300_1.jpg http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/mg_exe.jpg http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/toyota_carina_92.jpg Interesting to see this here - first UK built carina. Odd to see it without dents, scrapes, tissue boxes, bald tyres and astro-mileage. I suspect Hirst will be turning up in something like this in 10 years time. I think the first UK production Bluebird or Primera is in some museum in Sunderland - I'll have to inspect that. I reckon info for all the cars above can be found on that rather good austin-rover site. Spotted these on my way up north after Gaydon. http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/honda_legend2.jpg http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/triumph_dolomite_5.jpg http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/saab_99_1.jpg To finish my extended exciting mileage filled weekend, I spotted this at a garage very late on monday night near the A1 Scotch Corner again. Must be a hot spot for Datsuns or something. http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/datsun_cherry_2.jpg The rest of the shots are here: http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/cars72.htm
Spottedlaurel Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Isn't that N10 the one that sold for a large amount of money? B310 looks great, number looks vaguely familiar on that too.Didn't know Gaydon had a Carina. Excellent.
retrogeezer Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 some superb random spottage there - amazing how much you can see on the road/parked up in a weekend!

Mash Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Yet more cool pics Darren; you really do have a knack for spotting! Tht blue Rekord is a beauty.
Split_Pin Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Wow that museum looks worth a visit.Strange that the white rally Maxi is a saloon??Amazing just how much European influence resides in some of the BL prototypes as stated. The new Dolly has hints of Fiat 132, and the P6 looks strangely Citroenesque at the front. The Bluebird must be the only one in existence outside Japan, like, ever. Surely.
M'coli Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Did the Lynx stylist turn up at Toyota in time to do the Celica/Supra?
reallyloud Posted June 16, 2008 Author Posted June 16, 2008 My isp is really boiling my pi55 now....images are missing so I thrown the latest batch on flickr. First lot are the j-tin selection (as seen on rr, ojc and doc) so apologies for this multi-forum madness. Thats out of the way, now for the rest - very little in terms of shite to be honest but I like to think my carina (blue 4 door saloon in the selection above) made up for that. Some Italian choice cuts from the show: Followed by a swift scattering of precision engineering: Stuff of mixed ancestory: As many as 500 of these were registered in 2001. According to the owner - can this be right? Seems like a wildly optimistic number considering how few are seen. Lovely subtle colour, slightly over exposed shot unfortunately. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3012/2584714869_8babd40697_o.jpg Check the interior out! http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3076/2585551640_f4406117cf_o.jpg Some Swedish metal: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3026/2585552548_9fdb71d5e8_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3080/2584716619_0aff70f8bc_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3266/2585549728_a627be00e9_o.jpg And finally some of the more interesting UK stuff (to me anyway) http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3270/2585548516_e2106d07b5_o.jpg This was like Father Cherrys only British car - I think I would have been transported back from Shrub Hill maternity unit to the house in something like this. I love the Marina colour palettes of these late 1100/1300's. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3007/2585551982_c6ffeb37f7_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3184/2584718229_bc075bd132_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3064/2585650398_03ded65f95_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3193/2585552422_cc33deefd2_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3078/2584717937_2c1e34a69f_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3133/2584715519_38f28dd4bb_o.jpg The Maestro was not one of the newest cars there - there was a whole crock of bloody PT cruisers, as well as 5 year old BMW 5 series and fresh from the dealer MX5's. Asides from that was a grand day out. Apart from a distinctive lack of French cars.
The Reverend Bluejeans Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Mr Cherry - absolutely none of your images are showing! I'm getting moist at the thought of a Morris 18/22.
reallyloud Posted June 17, 2008 Author Posted June 17, 2008 bumstix. Can you see all the latest pics though?
Mr_Bo11ox Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Nope! not a bean. I think that because the reallyloud pics are not working, the AS page is not getting as far as trying the flickr ones.
r.welfare Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Flickr ones work for me too. I believe this still belongs to the first owner, who is more than getting on a bit now. Same colour as the saloon I had, unfortunately this estate is beginning to show it's age but still a fabulous sight. Minty green Mk2 Granada is the pick for me.
Split_Pin Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Fab pics! I think the Capri gets my vote! The MK1 Astra Celebrity is owned by a member of my Vauxhall Club and it is as mint as it looks in the pics. At the Vauxhall Show at Santa Pod 2 weeks ago there was only 1 other Celebrity there so I take it they are pretty rare
55bloke Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Some ace stuff there - very nearly attended the show myself, but decided against it in the end. Shame!! Love the Sunbeam Imp (Stiletto?) and the Saab Sonet - never even heard of that before. The green Granada was also at the Renishaw Hall show the previous Wednesday- bet it does most of it's milage travelling between shows!
The Reverend Bluejeans Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 The Saab Sonnet left Harewood on the end of a tow rope - now THAT is proper shiteness!
reallyloud Posted June 30, 2008 Author Posted June 30, 2008 Subject to my internets working, I present you with a whole load of pictures from Saturday glamourous North east 'Stockton-on-tees, Preston park classic fire engine day' followed by a A69 sunday dash across the country to a damp but not unfriendly Moffat Classic car show in scotland. Won't post every car because that would be tedious, so here are a pick of the 100 or so cars over the 2 days. J-tin selection at Stockton One of many Fire appliances. 4wd and seemingly able to tow a trailer. And then a selection from the Moffat Show - this is a rootes car event mostly - Rootes obviously have a strong connection with Scotland. There was a really impressive selection. Quite a few other car clubs were in attendance too - Another 3 pages of mildly interesting stuff can be seen here: http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/cars76.htm
Spottedlaurel Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 Cor, that Chevanne! We had a mildly customised one in the village I grew up in, fitted with slot mags and side panels had murals with Tower Bridge IIRC.

reallyloud Posted July 10, 2008 Author Posted July 10, 2008 Every 2nd wednesday of the month there is an informal meet at the glamourous Metrocentre shopping centre in Gateshead - this is the 3rd one I've attended and there always seems to be a good turn out of cars. These 2 caught my eye. Other attractions: Bizarre. From what I understand its home built (oh rely?) and is powered by a diesel engine. This once belonged to Pinewood studios who used it as a filming vehicle. I do like these Nissans. Not sure whether they're fashionable or only driven by beautiful people. I'm neither but make a lot of sense to me. A bit more down to earth: And finally some gratuitous compositions. I didn't take too many shots, as the rain was relentless. A few more here: http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/cars79.htm
Ratdat Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 That Cube was at the J.A.P.S show at Ollerton at the weekend. Very cool looking things in the flesh if a little large for my liking. It looked huge parked next to a Pao. There was a Honda SM-X like the one pictures above too. Apparently that stands for Street Movement Extreme or something equally daft.
reallyloud Posted July 10, 2008 Author Posted July 10, 2008 Quote There was a Honda SM-X like the one pictures above too. Apparently that stands for Street Movement Extreme or something equally daft.Excellent. I was struggling to find out what model it was. While researching (or rather googling) I came across the Honda Life Dunk, Honda Mobilio Spike and Honda Bukkakke Dragon. Ok the last one is made up.
