I know this car met with mixed responses when I got it, but it really has been brilliant. I am only selling because I bought the Bluebird(which I only bought because it was a bargain).

It is on ebay too.

My wife is also selling her Swift, which I don't have a picture of, but it sneaks into my photos occasionally.

Both cars are for sale as she wants a Kia Rio (not my idea).

Anyone interested?

Wow your Mrs must be quite something if she's got the horn for a Kia Rio. Why is she not a regular on here?

Girl I know has just scrappaged a tidy Ka for a Rio. Mental.

I really didn't know she was into shite cars. Apparently the Daewoo Lanos is an option too! Reading through her ebay watchlist has been interesting lately.

There was a girl at work who scrappaged a MINT 1.9 litre 309 GTI for a Ka. Her late dad gave it her. It was fucking lovely and I went mental when she told me.

Your wife has an Ebay watch list?! Cripes. That said, my wife is perfectly happy with her Mini (I did try to get her interested in the Nippa, as it's equipment-lite - which she likes - but no joy I'm afraid. It isn't a Mini)

If Mrs L had an eBay watch list with anything automotive I'd be well chuffed. As it is her watch list is actually full of baby equipment which is far less exciting.(Mine of course is full of Renault Twingos, Honda Preludes, old Mazdas and assorted Citroens)

Are these cars really that undesirable? :(

Actually I'm going to stick my neck out and say the Rio isn't all that bad. Of course it's horrid and plasticky, but quite simple and relatively durable. My mate has had a base model since new (8 years now), never a moment's trouble with it apparently.

I meant the Nippa and the Swift. Of course, knowing Pog, that's what he was talking about! The Nippa has provisionally sold, and the Chevy went this morning. Just the Swift left to sell.Oh, and I changed the Bluebird's cambelt this afternoon. Hooray for me!

Tell you what - I think KIA make some very decent products these days and the general public still hasn't cottoned onto this, which is a good thing in my eyes - think Japanese credibility in the 1980's early 90's

I really like my mums Picanto (the little bugger at the back of the pic below) - which replaced her imported Mazda 121 just over a year ago. It's great in the snow, has all the toys, drives well and gets 40+MPG to boot!

Agreed about the current Kia range. Had a day or two with a new Ceed a few weeks back and was really impressed, drives well enough, fairly well spec'd and looks pretty decent as well. Just like a Golf really. Drove a Rio as well for a week or two last year and was quite surprised - again seems well screwed together, good amount of kit although maybe a bit bland. Piccantos are ace though - had loads of 'em at work and they never ever go wrong!

As an aside, those wheels look fucking brilliant on that Hyundai.

I just fitted them the other day - been sitting in a box at the house for about two months - I've still to lower the rear a bit but the weather has been a bit nippy for that.Mind you, that didn't stop me changing the discs/pads and one rear caliper in the snow a few weeks back!

I'm getting to it. My wife has to find a new car first. It has MOT til April. It is a 998cc, 3 cyl with sporty(ish) seats, but not sporty performance. It has a CD player ,leccy windows and central locking.Or, to put it in female terms....It is Blue.

The Mitsubishi Space Wagon GDI is a phantastic car, especially with 4WD. Very rustprone, but if you drive it with high-octane-fuel, it´s superb! The interieur is very comfortable and good looking too, one of the last "real" japanese cars with the feeling I love so much about them.

My dad sold his 2003 Ford Maverick 3.0 V6 a few months back, It was costing to much to run even though he only done 1000 miles in a year in it!.

Plus he hates automatics and big engined V6's so god knows why he bought it, I like it though, Had a nice column shift change on it and sounded nice with good grunt.

It had done 64000 miles, 52 reg, FSH, Fully loaded with the leather etc and was mint and only got £2600 for it in the end.

I happen to have a soft spot for those Swifts. I didn't know the 1.0l only had a three pot motor though.

Just out of interest, how much does a Swift like yours go for? After my recent thread on here, I'm going to be concentrating on looking at these, Micras and early 00's 323's come the Spring, and was just wondering if this type/age of car was in her £1500 budget?

Posted

Well within that budget I'd say. This one is up for around the £900 mark.
