Seems a bit pricey to be honest for what is a bit of a bastard job on those engines. I thought about it as well, but had quite enough of HG's this month.Worth buying a new engine (with a rad chucked in for free)?

RUN AWAY!!!

I accidentally bought a Subaru GLF thing years ago that I did bad things to the engine in. Ended up rebuilding the motor and it cost a bloody fortune for bits - big end shells were about £40 alone and it wasn't a nice job to do.

I think that would only be worth buying if you really needed a donor car and could be bothered pinching the LPG kit.

Thank you all for the warnings.

I have a spare engine etc in the spares breaker (red one) but it's only a 1.8.

So, not worth it. £500+ is too much for a spares car (paid £170 for the red one), and I can't be bothered swapping the kit over. My blue one is starting get a bit frilly around the edges, anyway. If I had a solid, low mileage recipient and a cheap Legacy 2.2 or 2.5 with LPG, I'd give it a go and swap the lot in. So I'll keep my eyes open for something else.

Thanks again, folks.

If it were me I'd weigh 'em both in and get a nice early 90s Legacy (if it has to be subaru).

I think it's bad news buying anything from a fella who can't turn his caps lock off and uses "LOL" in an advert to sell car.

I agree, that alone would put me off. I imagine he uses a sort of 'caps lock effect' when using tools, hitting stuff too hard, tightening stuff up too much etc etc. Plus £550 for that with a goosed engine is a joke i'd say, i'd pay £200 max and only then if I had a definite use for the LPG gubbins.

I reckon they have priced it with TEH DUBBARZ in mind, someone will buy that lot up & attempt to fit it to an overpriced, rusty type 25 van, then give up and advertise the lot at £4500 as a project. Anyone who lives in the real world (as opposed to VW land where cash apparently grows on trees) ain't gonna touch it.

'Bargain, if only you were closer to me'.In what possible way is that a bargain? For a couple of hundred quid (at most) more you'd get a newer, better one with tax and MOT. Then you could spray the wheels gold, nail Runcorn bridge to the boot, get some six inch diameter piping for the exhaust and sell it to some dickhead who lives on your local estate for £1500.

I agree, Not a bargain in the slightest and worth little more than scrap IMHO, What's with all the cut pipes and the dash that DOG EATE SOME of IT LOL (Twat).

I dont know, I just think no one should trust a guy who owns 2 of the same car yet still spells the model name wrong.

I think it says it all that the seller has an older one there that he is keeping!

The same thing ran through my head as well, very fishy.Looking through his other posts he's also selling a chavy looking auto saloon as well.

Not the first Subaru he's been trying to sell either.
