The car has a very slight hesitation but holds speed fine. I've got time to look at it tomorrow and suspect it's the points which I gapped the other day and may have been over zealous with the gap. Lovely!

The very best of luck with this man, I am probably not the only one here who will be anxiously watching out for updates, but I’m sure you’ll have a workaround for any eventuality! I've been doing a lot in the gym recently which has really helped with managing my back 😅 I deliberately built it with a 2.9 diff so 70mph is a tickle over 3500rpm. Ahhh nice work!! All the best for your trip
Tommyboy12 Posted May 8 Author Posted May 8 It's road trip time! Yesterday evening was some last minute prep. Rather than mess around with changing points to deal with my missing I gutted an old dizzy of it's electronic conversion to fit to the one on my Aggro. Little did I know timing it would be a pain as the marks are on the torque converter through a tiny window on the underside of the car. Just what you need right before the off! Pretty easy to get to though And fitted quickly. I gave up on timing it with the marks as I just couldn't see anything through the tiny hole underneath the car. So I ended up doing it by ear. Means I'll probably be doing some adjustments on the move today. Packed the car with spares, tools and cassette tapes and I'm ready for the off! First stop is picking up the Visa! Popsicle, Westbay, rm36house and 22 others 25
Tommyboy12 Posted May 8 Author Posted May 8 And off I go! First up is a casual 3 hour drive to Dover via some stop points to pick up other cars. Hoping to get to Dover for about 9.30ish. Wibble, Six-cylinder, Popsicle and 13 others 16

rusty_vw_man Posted May 8 Posted May 8 Looks like a great trip, loving the convoy it’s a brilliantly random assembly! Dutch fuel prices suck in my experience! Tommyboy12 and Matty 1 1
IronStar Posted May 8 Posted May 8 Good effort! I wanted to come, but I’m traveling for work on Monday morning, and wasn’t ready to play jeopardy with Florida, especially with no one in convoy. Expecting tons of photos tomorrow! Tommyboy12 1
