Tonight's test run before the Netherlands of the Aggro to the local club meet went well. The car has a very slight hesitation but holds speed fine. I've got time to look at it tomorrow and suspect it's the points which I gapped the other day and may have been over zealous with the gap.

The very best of luck with this man, I am probably not the only one here who will be anxiously watching out for updates, but I’m sure you’ll have a workaround for any eventuality!

I don't mind it to be honest! I've done a 1500 mile trip in my Mini before round the NC500. I've been doing a lot in the gym recently which has really helped with managing my back 😅

I deliberately built it with a 2.9 diff so 70mph is a tickle over 3500rpm.

Ahhh nice work!! All the best for your trip

It's road trip time!

Yesterday evening was some last minute prep. Rather than mess around with changing points to deal with my missing I gutted an old dizzy of it's electronic conversion to fit to the one on my Aggro.

Little did I know timing it would be a pain as the marks are on the torque converter through a tiny window on the underside of the car.

Just what you need right before the off!

Pretty easy to get to though

PXL_20260507_141438717.jpg.c67674a253b85549872a260714e7ebf0.jpg

And fitted quickly.

PXL_20260507_142556970.jpg.51cc341a50c6c8fb5d54aca026079865.jpg

I gave up on timing it with the marks as I just couldn't see anything through the tiny hole underneath the car. So I ended up doing it by ear. Means I'll probably be doing some adjustments on the move today.

Packed the car with spares, tools and cassette tapes and I'm ready for the off! First stop is picking up the Visa!

And off I go!

First up is a casual 3 hour drive to Dover via some stop points to pick up other cars.

Hoping to get to Dover for about 9.30ish.

Quick pitstop to collect another two cylinder Visa. Next stop Dover! Probably...

Fabulous pic. I look forward to seeing it on the May 2027 AS calendar.

Well done for all your hard work, the 7 and Mini look terrific.

Just got into Dover for fuel. I'm managing a fantastic 26.5mpg. The 3L Jag is doing 37mpg...

Er, why is there a 'nana skin under the wiper? Is it some sort of secret messaging that lets the dodgy Customs officer know you've paid the bribe so you get waved through??!!

My partner in crime @sharley17194 decided it belonged there 😅

Next stop is the Carrefour outside Dunkirk!

We've made some progress into Belgium! The Allegro is fine. The Jag is currently discharging...

We've also now made it to our overnight stop near Louwmans Toyota World where EMWalhalla is tomorrow. 375 miles completed today without incident. Unfortunately I'm averaging a depressing 25mpg which at €2.40 a litre is going to hurt the wallet!

Looks like a great trip, loving the convoy it’s a brilliantly random assembly!

Dutch fuel prices suck in my experience!

Good effort! I wanted to come, but I’m traveling for work on Monday morning, and wasn’t ready to play jeopardy with Florida, especially with no one in convoy.
Expecting tons of photos tomorrow!

There will be loads of photos tomorrow for sure!

We're actually being part of a Practical Classics ten page article on the trip too! We've got one of their writers and photographers with us.
