Another TR7. Was meant to be a parts car (bought for much cheapness), but I think it may be too good for that.

Coathanger ariel!

Needs some welding underneath. Moral dilemma time!

Not keen on the alloys or flared fibreglass arches either.

What to do?!

rip the ugly GRP shizzle off, put some standard steelies on it and give it a quick blow-over in beige.......well, thats what i'd do anyway!

They look good in green. I reckon those wheel arches and add ons cover a multitude of bodges. Get it home, pour yourself a drink and relist it.

I like the arch / wheel combo too.Actually makes the TR7 look half decently styled in my eyes.Must say though, those arches, are they off a Saxo or summat?

I know, with all the bits of plastic it could pass as an early '90s motor.I need to give it a closer inspection - it was my dad who got hold of it and I haven't had time to look at it thoroughly yet. Was only £200, plenty of bits I can nick off it and flog the rest for a profit. A good buy either way. Bit worried about what lurks beneath the plastic though - if its bad it will be broken, if its ok might consider recomissioning it. Starts and stops really well, electrics all working nicely.

Yeh, me likey metro too...And the TR7 of course.

I love a TR7, me. Probably the best ever British sports car. You can shove your Astons & Bentleys up your wrongun.......

Only £200?! Surely can't lose at that.Looks an interesting litle garage.

Excellent purchase, Im hopeful its all okay under the plastic....That little garage reminds me of one in Farnborough, which reminds me that I still really need to get a picture of the Rapier they have outside.

Its my dads garage. Hes had it about 20 years. Lots of people bring their old motors there as its quite old school.

The MGB is a customers' by the way. Neither me of my dad are that mad!

Here is a CPTC of one of my dads motors for ya:

Excellent acquisition there 8) - I know of a ropey TR7 that's in my local scrappers if you ever need bits for it (it's in red though)

Bargain!I have a bit of a thing for TR7s. Something very cool about them.

I love the look of that TR7. A normal TR7 I would rate as 2/10 in the looks department. That one I would give a 7.5.

The TR is very New Avengers, is the MG Metro yours then?

Posted

Yeah Metro is mine too.

Here are the 3 current automotive horrors I own:

Nice. Lose bodykit, keep wheels, install V8. Sorted! Standard engine's ok, but by golly do they become a different animal with double the cylinders!

Posted

OH HAI. DOLOMITES CALLED, THEY WANT THEIR ENGINEZ BACK PLS. Best thing for a TR7. Plus you can use the defunct shell as a doorstop. SOZ.

Posted

i prefer the Metro :)As for the TR7, i think it looks nice with the bigger arches and alloysThey appear to give it more presents - (Is that spelt right ?) haha

Posted

Pog - first you slate the Metro, now you're disrespecting the TR7. I R TAKIN DIS PERSONILY AN GRAS U 2 MODORATRZ.But yeah, the silver one has a 16v Sprint motor so in some ways I am just as bad as Metro-raping Mini owners. Although I didn't do the transplant myself!
