Had the same thing with my starter, new one fixed it and like yours now, started on the button.

Removing the bumper is easy but time consuming.

And as said, you don't need to remove it completely.

Very unlikely to find any rust, mine was like new.

seems the bolt in the drivers side wheel arch is cross threaded

not a problem, not in the mood to sort it today but i'll get it out during the week at some point

otherwise looks easy enough

driven 1,000 miles since monday

transmission is fine, when it's hot and say after sitting in traffic it can be a little notchy, especially on the 3rd to 4th shift

but i can live with it

starting great

but i've noticed the drivers seat seems to have dropped, have to pump it back up most days

so in the future i may be in the market for a replacement

i need to order a replacement heater resistor as i keep forgetting

really should think about doing the rear arm bearings too, rear camber angles look fine and tyre wear is still even and ride is good

once the main stuff is done i want to replace the spheres

oh and the headlight, will do that in the coming days most likely

not much to do really, much further on with this project than i expected to be at this time

pretty much 10k miles in too

is a good'un

oh and a cambelt and water pump later in the year

decided to check my LDS fluid today

upon opening the cap there was a release of pressure and some fluid came out, not experienced that before.....must have been air or been overfilled

anyway did some checks of other stuff

ah yes my stoppy juice has expired it seems

i shall pay someone to replace it in the coming weeks as i'm not fucking around with siezed caliper bleed nipples

but it shall be done

Seat dropping seems fairly standard sadly. A shame as the driving position, once set, is bloody marvellous.

lifted it up way higher than i'd normally have it

not moved in a few days now and got quite used to the new driving position

quite a lovely thing for long trips

Little block of wood under the frame under the seat would solve the dropping issue a treat!

Can't say I've ever had a droopy height adjuster, and I've had a few height adjusters but I've always without fail slammed it to the floor the moment I sit in it pre paying for it then never touching it again bar adjusting for cleaning

I'd have lowered a psa height adjustable seat infront of @bub2006@bub2006 a few times now...

i'm tempted to leave it well alone.......

need to go under the seat to try and make the CD changer be attached to something and not just shoved there in a "that'll do" fashion

surprised it doesn't have adjustable lumbar support when the picasso did....oh well

seats are super duper comfy anyway

My driver's seat broke.  Had it welded and it broke again.  Bought a full set of electric leather seats for £120 from an eBay seller.  Collected them myself from Ware to save on transport costs.  Had never heard of Ware.

But it was close enough to Kettering where I was going for a Citroen rally anyway :)

Pressure release when opening the LDS reservoir is normal.  Fluid coming out isn't.

Suspension on lowest setting, give it a few minutes to settle and in the filler throat are two sets of slots at the bottom.  The LDS should be below the tops of the shorter slots, but only just.

One of the hazards with the system is that if the car is raised with all four wheels hanging, then lowered again, the fluid  returns to the reservoir too quickly and pressurises the reservoir and bursts the seam.

Before raising the car, the filler cap needs to be removed and or the suspension set at max height which prevents the fluid leaving the rams.

More of a problem on X7s than earlier models but worth doing just in case.

My last one was overfilled when I bought it.  Stayed that way until the long front to rear pipe burst due to mechanical failure - retaining clip had scrubbed through the metal.  There should have been a plastic buffer but it wasn't there.  Fun driving forty miles with barely any suspension and very hard steering.

i have a feeling it may have been me overfilling it slightly.....

level is fine however

not too bothered, ride seems absolutely fine and it all works

Don't fit leather. Velour is the superior seat choice. No cold arse on a winter's morn. Or sweaty back in the summer.

2 hours......

2 hours to remove a sodding bolt from the front bumper

i say remove, obliterate it

anywayyyyyy

today was the day i decided to replace the faded headlight unit

we will gloss over the language which i used......

here is the bumper, in it's hanging off position, surprisingly no clips actually broke!

but look how yellow it's gone again, cos some idiot didn't put UV protection on it when he cleaned them up

said idiot is me

239337618_179828014244326_2871378048759733134_n.thumb.jpg.ab9a0d74608a6f78b875051c503a903d.jpg

once that was complete, i decided to destroy another bolt

this time it was the little one on the top of the headlamp cluster

don't worry i made a bolt substitute

curious as to what it looks like with his eye removed?

well here it is

also zero rot, zero signs of accident damage

in fact there isn't a single spot of rot on this whole car

so here it is, really a vast improvement

smartended the front end up very very nicely!

i'm really chuffed with this car, absolutely rock solid underneath, drives beautifully and i think i really got a good'un here

It'd drop after a week or so with me. I was tempted to shove a block of wood underneath it to keep it at the higher level

Really enjoying this thread. This looks like a very good example of a C5. I do love a massive car, the sense of satisfaction when you can almost guarantee anything will fit in it!!

Keep it up 👍

is a much, much better example than i thought it was when i bought it

as far as i know there's not too much really left to do to it

every couple of days mine drops

easy enough to pump it back up

of course, we all know the handle will snap off soon probably

Indeed, although I am aware that I will ever go there again.
