Because the average human is a sub-normal cunt.

Sad but true, and now you know why I prefer my dog and my cars.

There was even a debate on the horrendous Vine programme on Radio 2 on Monday, about the darts.  I caught some of it.

You could have changed station, or there is an off switch. Talk about self flagellation.

If it was truly exploitative, women wouldn't do it.

That doesn't work for prostitution does it?

And how exactly will the darts or motor racing suffer if these girls aren't there?

These models are employed to do nothing apart from to be there to "look nice". Usually by standing next to men paid an awful lot for doing a sport that women find difficult to break into or can only compete for much smaller prize funds in.

Actually I think it far more degrades men if we are led to believe that these sports will somehow be less enjoyable if it isn't dressed up by some dolly birds who serve no other purpose than to dress it up for men. Quite pathetic really.

So do I, it just needs bikes adding to the list.

The good old days weren't a constant; just like orl Modernz izn't necessarily shit.

People these days seem to be far too quick to take offence on someone else's behalf (without being invited to do so) and to "challenge" everything.  Literally everything.  Every rule that's been in place for centuries for good reasons; every decision by anyone in any sort of authority; every lifestyle choice made by anyone who isn't them.  It's WRONG.  What happened to live-and-let-live?  It's gone the same way as make-do-and-mend.

Why can't we just get along?

If we kept that mindset, people would still laugh at 'darkies' on television. We HAVE to keep challenging everything. It's the way of the world, ever since some primate decided trees were rubbish and went for a walk. It's not always comfortable, but such is life. I'm no rabid feminist, but I do think we should try to treat women with a bit more respect, and expect more than just 'a nice rack' to look at.

See? Told you it'd end up being a debate. Sorry, I should stop...

Darts and motor racing won’t suffer at all, there will be a fair few girls making a hell of a lot less money because someone dived in and saved them against their will though

Yeah, I’m THAT considerate, i’m thinking about their future earnings

Seems to me its far more demeaning to be working minimum wage on the checkouts at Tesco. Fuck that. If the cash was there then I would flaunt my body for cash. That's exploiting the people who are paying surely?

Who are we to say they can't show off & be looked at like that if they want? Surely the sort of women who wouldn't enjoy that wouldn't apply for those jobs? It's no different to being a model (male or female) really.

Edit to add: It's more demeaning to suggest women can't decide if they want to do that job or not, if none of them did the job would vanish anyway.

How many men have been allowed to work as grid boys or walk on boys? How many plus sized people? How many F1 drivers are women? What is the prize fund for the women World darts title?

I agree tbh. I find it sad when some people watch something just for a cheap thrill like that. But I can't fault the girls for making money out of those saddos.

The issue is how this treatment is perceived. If you hire girls just to look pretty, children see this and start thinking that men are drivers and women just there to look nice. I think it's wrong to hire ANYONE on looks. If Grid Girls were allowed to look, well, like ordinary women (and/or men were included too) I'd feel much happier about it.

There was all this uproar when The Sun dropped its Page 3 girls, but (sadly) The Sun still seems to sell. It's not the end of the world if things move on, and while I'm touched that a lot of old men seems to care very much about these poor girls and where their next pay cheque will come from, I'm sure there are other jobs they could do.

No no, we should step in and save them from earning a very decent wage in glamorous surroundings following a career that they chose and love. So they can make a less demeaning career working the tills in Tesco and flashing their tits on YouTube for likes and subscribes.

The only thing stopping my wife divorcing me is that she can't work due to ill health (ME and Back issues) and won't or can't claim benefits.  Can't wait to see her again on Friday. Looking forward to the weekend etc.

We've had a few female F1 drivers, I forget how many. I believe the physical strains of it make it harder for women, not sure why if you trained as much as the blokes do, Maybe it doesn't interest women as much? look at the mix of sexes on this forum, I'd say cars etc are a mostly male thing, I see the same in biking. It's just the way it is.

I agree that men and women should be equal in society, that doesn't mean they have to be the the same though.

WHY is there a separate women's darts title? Are they not strong enough to throw men's darts? Are men's darts bigger and heavier ?

I haven't seen it in a newsagents near me since 1989.

Actually my sister was a grid girl for BTCC and a Tissot girl for MotoGP , I don't think it is that great a wage. She certainly didn't jack her call center job in off the back of it.

However I will bow to the research you have done in order to defend the position of these girls.

But why is it a mostly male thing? Is it because women aren't interested, or because society dictates that girls should live pink things and sewing? A few decades ago, a woman's place was the kitchen. Sadly, there are those who still consider this the case.

This.  So many people seem to have lost the ability to distinguish between "equal" and "the same".

No idea. Hopefully it'll come. But not if things never change because "all the feminazis are out to get us" ;)

I think Lynx has got into trouble for its ad campaigns in the past. Or maybe it was just people complaining about the stench of Musk...

Yes! I’ve asked this loads of times, I don’t see any reason why women can’t compete against men in sports where physical strength isn’t a factor, like darts and snooker. I mean, apart from the fact they’re not as good, but other than that no reason at all.

And I am genuinely concerned about their next pay check, I can’t afford to take more than two or three of them in

I think I am a bit rare anyway, because I feel the same about things like the pepsi guy too. It's sad if a man taking his shirt off on an advert is exciting.

I did notice at Le Mans last year there were about as many grid boy's as girl's so some events have equality, were any plus sized I can't remember. There are plenty of women drivers in endurance racing they just struggle to get into formula 1. Not a great loss as formula 1 is the most boring sport going now. Does it really matter if these girls or guys want to do the job as I expect most of them will be on the books of some modelling agency, let them earn a few quid and travel the world if they want to.

I don't know. I know several women who've been into bikes all their lives but have never wanted to ride their own, I utterly can't understand that but they feel happy that way so who am I to say they are wrong?

People pick their own role in life, the sexes are different so of course they tend to have different things they tend to gravitate too. I value that difference tbh, I wouldn't want to be with someone who is exactly like me. How dull would that be? At least as dull as having an old fashioned woman who just said 'yes dear' and cooked for when I got in, if not worse.

Gents,

Ask yourselves this. If someone paid you decent money to walk about Formula 1 grids carrying a board saying "Bottas" or "Grosjean", would you do it? And if the audience were female would you consider yourself being exploited by the audience, or would you be thinking "ha suckers!"

It's a tricky one isn't it? As Louise says the sports would in no way be affected by the inclusion or exclusion of the women involved. I don't know anyone prepared to pay hundreds for a seat at Silverstone just to look at the grid girls, and I wouldn't have thought Darts fans sole motivation was to look at the women.

Cheerleading though - pretty much a part of the US sports "Razzamatazz". Would Football and Baseball be quite the same without them? Maybe that's one for the US members as I have no real input to the US attitude but would be curious to know
