Our fence was wrecked in the recent winds. Blew down and bits of it landed on the car on Saturday.

Winter needs to FRO.

I went to see a very nice Lancia last week and was undecided about buying it. The seller said he had one other interested party, but that would have meant the car was moving overseas and he'd rather it stayed here, so if I wanted it, it was mine. I just had to let him know before Monday, yesterday.

I emailed the bloke on Sunday afternoon saying I'd have the car, and have tried calling him, but theres no answer .... I don't care if he's sold it elsewhere I'd just like to know if I need to start flogging motors to make space/pay for it.

Any recommendations for sheet steel stockists in South Essex? I'm fed up of places round here either not having any basic, mild steel sheet in stock or, like the one today, being rude and dismissive simply because I'm not trade and not placing a £££ order with them. To be fair, the receptionist was really nice (and fit, as well), but the bloke in charge of the steel came across as a complete twat. "I can't do it today, we're loading lorries now". No dickhead, you're standing around with two other lads and there are no lorries in sight. All I wanted was the sheet guillotined in half so it would fit in the car, how long does that take?

The seller of the steel I ordered from Ebay took 10 days to 'mark as posted', and it still hasn't arrived. This is getting beyond a joke now.

Most decent motor factors who stock body panels/bodyshop gear, will have sheet steel in stock. Where do you go for paint and thinners and that? I'd try ringing round a few local motorfactors, no doubt you'l get a few clever twats who will make out like you're asking if they stock Kryptonite but someone will have some. Sending sheets of steel through the post must be a right ballache.

Most factors round here don't seem to stock much more than oil, bulbs and track rod ends for Kias. There's one place that used to be decent, loads of old spares etc but then they discovered Ebay and now have virtually nothing. I get paint and thinners from a paint stockist on Canvey. Don't know anywhere that stocks body panels.

I hate going anywhere that resembles/smells of a "trade" place.

Unhelpful, miserable gits the lot of them.

Too busy talking shite with the regulars to help you and possibly get new business.

All women love Figaro's, It's a unwritten FACT. Mrs.T's been pestering me for years about one, even though she doesn't like automatics.

Hell, I'd love a Figaro..... but I would slightly tweak the mechanicals somewhat.... Yeah, girlymobile that looks like a scrotum when pink, but if it had twice the power, fuck the looks.

I have always had no bother getting just one sheet of steel from the local suppliers. I always thought they got a fair bit of passing business that way. I mean its not like I buy a sheet smaller than that of a local garage at any one time, it just takes me longer to get through it. I just fold it up best I can and bosh it in the back of the car. I cant see most small garages doing anything different and the suppliers must get LOADS of trade like that.

Just fold the sheet in half and see if it'll fit. I can't believe that they are so flush that they won't sell you some steel.

I'm going back tomorrow to collect the (cut in half) sheet, mainly so I can do some more flirting with the fit receptionist :)

Just realised I'm going to only get five months and three days tax for the price of six. Bollocks.
