Wow, the first of those Granadas I've ever seen with a Diesel. Someone should save it!
Posted

I found a couple of Granada 2.1Ds on eBay UK recently.A stunning place, I really wanted to find something like it when I was in Ireland.

Brilliant spots, thanks for sharing.Tata looks fairly recent compared to the rest and Dodge van must be a bloody good source of rare spares for someone.

Someone needs to liberate that straight looking front bumper from the mk3 Cortina. Decent secondhand ones are fetching up to £150 on ebay just now.

This FD Victor looks very saveable, Stunning cars!

That looks a pretty incredible place! Be nice to spend a few hours in there I'd imagine!

Posted

Heaven , Looks like Alfa didnt use any primer in those days , never seen paint peel off like that even when ive sprayed it on

Posted

I'd love to spend a few hours there - all the cars tick the right boxes for me - reminds me of what the scrapyards looked like in the late 80's/early 90's.I'd also make sure that nothing is removed and get the site listed as of a historic importance and therefore ruining the chances of any environmentalist, property developer or vandal to destroy what we see here.

I've just noticed the bonnet is still on that, only the skin as totally rusted away leaving just the frame! incredible! (okay someone probably had the skin off it but still...)

Saw one of these (in this colour) in Mally's yard a year or two back with a 'truckman top' on it and only 29000 miles  shame they rot so easily :(

That P504's headlights don't look like the standard article. Can someone please explain?

I seriously panicked till I saw this was in Ireland, as I thought is was one I was offered. The windscreen is worth about £200......

Hey Noam - you might have done what I did when I saw this - at first sight the blue car with the rusted away bonnet skin looks like a 504 'cos of the squashed boot - but 'tis an Audi 100. Is that the car you mean?

If, by P504 you mean this...

Posted Image

It looks to me like an early Audi 80 or 100.

Posted

Yep, I did mean that one! It's so obviously an Audi when I look properly. As mouseflakes says, it is the downward-sloping boot that made me think it was a P504.

please feel free to add them to my scrappy facebook group mate!!

Anybody got location and contact details for this place?

Posted

I think people had asked the chap who took the photos on Flickr but he didn't say, but he did say that the yard owner wanted to much money for most of the parts. You might be best following the link at the start of the thread and asking him yourself.

The bloke who put the photos up seemed to be saying that no reasonable offer would be refused for anything as they are clearing the land and it's all getting crushed so might be worth a shot. I know thats completely contradictary to what trigger said but thats the impression i got...

I could be wrong (Won't be the first!), But he did this comment by another set he has.

All these photos are from a scrapyard/junkyard with which I have an association. If you're into photographing old rusty vehicles and machinery, this scrapyard would be pure heaven. As regards selling parts from these old cars...it's a waste of time. Ask someone for a 100 euros for a windscreen from a 30 or 40 year old car and they think that you are a greedy bastard. The crusher always wins in the end.Having said that, there is no charge for asking.
