Retr0vision.........Consolidated pics, waffle and nostalgia... addition to the fleet

I will start this if I may with a picture from a long gone car, a Renault 30  TX once owned by a work colleague. He bought this car from his brother and then sold the registration for more than he originally  paid for the car. Yes, he does wish he still had it! ?

How many left?

Probably fewer running than the fingers on one hand.

Hello all. The Retr0nauts are back home from a week spent on the Isle of Wight.  Here are just a few of the copious amounts of  older automobiles snapped. Is the IOW the Autoshite capital of the UK?

Part 1.

Part 3. Picasso's are quite abundant there although most have taken a beating by the looks of them. We counted over 90 of them during the week. (yes we are that sad and play "spot the casso" ?

There were also what appeared to be half the country's population of old VW campers .

I would say the average age of the cars on the road was at least  10 years old. Still lots of older style reg plates to be found.

Did you enjoy your trip to the Isle of Wight @Retr0naut? I lived there for 7 years, its a nice place to go for a holiday.

Love the scruffy 1930 sbuilding behind the Reliant. Do you have a rough idea where that was so I can look it up on street view etc?

Wow, I recognise about 80% of those cars.

The multicoloured 2cv is just round the corner from my house!

We did, a step back in time of twenty tears or so .?. Might take our own caravan over later on this year.

I am fairly sure it was in Ryde. I will try  and find the street for you.

North end of the island , not 100% where I'm afraid.. I spoke briefly with the owner  who was busy gardening asking him if it was ok to take a photo, nice fellow. The car looked fairly mint.

When on holiday I got a conformation phone call that our Maxi will be front and central in a short film called "Slave to the page" due to be filmed in September.  The film has an Instagram page if your interested ..   www.instagram.com/sttpfilm/

Great spots. I think I recognise a couple of locations, I’m occasionally over there for work.

Heres a spot from me;

That needs to be saved. It could be stunning.

Agreed, hopefully the scaffolding around various parts of it is a positive sign ?

I enjoyed that video, it was great, thanks for sharing, great how the cars were in order with the most impressive last. All look in great condition and good choice of music too. You have a nice collection, I would love to see your caravan too.

The Art Deco building is great too.

Thank you. Sadly our Allegro LE was missing from the video as it was midway through a brake overall so maybe there can be a part two including that and the caravan at some point ?

Its not very often that the seller of a car fills the tank for you before handing over the keys. Danny is a top bloke 🙂
